Such a good experience in this cosy cafe. Very friendly staff and the lemon and blueberry scones were ten out of ten! Also a delicious range of home made cakes.

This historic cosy cafe is small but gives you a big welcome. The menu is excellent and the service very friendly. Even though the number of inside tables is limited, they managed to find space for six of us.

Hawkshead is a wonderful but when you go to thèse tea room’s you feel you have gone to tea heaven, with lovely cakes all homemade do try the plum cake, or wonderful scones. Wet or dry don’t pass it by, it shows how good it is we went there twice in one day. Visualizza piatti

The staff at this restaurant are amazing, the atmosphere is pleasant, they have a great variety of teas, and the homemade cakes are delicious! If you are in Hawkshead, this is a must-stop spot. The prices are reasonable and the quality of the food and service is excellent.

We ordered one traditional one savoury afternoon tea to share). We can honestly say it was the best afternoon tea we’ve ever had and we’ve had one at The Ritz). The food was freshly homemade with a good choice of sandwiches cakes. Absolutely delicious. Staff were very obliging too. Thank you.

Visited twice during our stay, once for breakfast and once for afternoon tea. Food was lovely, particularly afternoon tea. My husband and I stopped in for lunch before going for a walk and we had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! I ordered the quiche and it was absolutely delicious, while my husband thoroughly enjoyed his baked potato topped with BBQ pork. We also tried the apple cinnamon and liquorice teas, both of which were delightful. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I would happily recommend this place to others.

The customer service here is shocking. I don’t actually think they want anyone in there. We arrived on a very rainy day and took the last table for two. We then sat and witnessed other customers arriving to be told very rudely that they were full, the staff were not pleasant to anyone as it appeared they couldn’t cope with the endless customers. We placed our order, 2 coffees and one cake to which the waitress, quite abruptly, asked my husband if he was having a cake (if he was we would have ordered it). It had been a while since we last visited Hawkshead. Today, we decided to go there mainly to avoid the line at Sarah Nelson's in Grasmere. By chance, we discovered this charming little tea room. We originally planned to sit outside, but there were too many wasps, which I'm terrified of. Instead, we went inside and asked for a table for two. The girl at the counter was lovely and very helpful in finding a place for my husband's mobility scooter. We ordered a coke and a flat white. My husband, who loves coffee, said the flat white was fantastic. My coke came in an ice-cold glass straight from the freezer, reminding me of holidays in Greece.
