Moonsha Japanese Bar Restaurant

The food was fantastic, cooked right in front of us which added to the overall experience. While the meal was a bit pricey, it is definitely worth bringing children along for the experience.

This is an excellent restaurant that offers personalized, attentive service with a subtle and friendly approach. I had never dined in an authentic Japanese restaurant before, but I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Would 100% recommend. We had Edamame beans delicious Salt and pepper squid massive pieces of battered squid Chilli king prawns absolutely amazing, so so tasty King prawn skewer that was good too Bento boxes chicken, beef and salmon ones were all fab sauce was amazing. Rice was sticky and lovely Sushi boat would recommend to anyone who likes sushi Visited for my daughters 14th birthday, service was fab, waitresses all friendly. We went to Moonsha on the 22nd for our daughter's birthday meal. As it was a Tuesday evening it wasn't busy. The menu is easy to follow and pictures help with the descriptions, the staff were friendly and efficient. Prices of starters (and some mains) were higher than other places but they were very good. Plenty of choice for mains and again, food was good. All food is brought out by an odd robot, a bit of a gimmick but certainly made us smile. My only criticisms were that there wasn't much choice for wines and maybe a bit more interaction and help with choosing food if (like us) you don't have any experience of Japanese food.

Genuinely such a homely place. Great decoration and lighting, the service was outstanding and the food was the best part! Everything was incredible and the sushi was the best I've ever had. Prices are great too! We don't have any photos because we wanted to enjoy the night. We ordered black and pepper squid, hot Chilli prawns, chicken and veg gyosas, octopus, and the sushi platter. It's had lots of veg on the side and everything was seasoned beautifully. Really loved it! My partner was over the moon at the selection of drinks. This is by far the worst dining experience I have ever had. Let me begin by emphasizing that this is NOT a Japanese restaurant. I went with my son for dinner and the service was friendly, but the decor was offensive to anyone with respect for Japanese culture. The prices for the starters were outrageous and the quality matched. The salt and pepper squid was smelly and tasteless, the chicken tori karaage was worse than McDonald's nuggets, and the king prawns were drowning in treacle. The mains, beef and chicken bento boxes, were equally disappointing with bland, pre-cooked meat and an overwhelming amount of sauce. The sticky, dirty atmosphere of the restaurant only added to the disappointment...

1. soup (it's just WATER there were 3 crackers and a couple of nuri leaves cut into slices. 2. there was cucumber and salmon sushi (VERY SMALL, without avocado . 3. sushi with tuna SPECIALLY ordered SPICY, they brought it not spicy at all (there was a drop of hot sauce, which is sold in stores, not prepared in a restaurant! 4. the food was not brought immediately, but gradually! Looking from the outside of the restaurant, there are numerous fast food establishments, kebabs, pizza, burgers etc…. For the love of what is holy, please go to any of those than this place. I was once drunk in a taxi and dropped a kebab on the floor of the cab, sadly I continued to eat it, I can honestly say it was more enjoyable than the food I experienced here. I’m convinced it’s harder to make food taste that bland than actually make it enjoyable. Now the service…… Well I’ve never been a hostage or a prisoner of war, but I’d take a stab at the fact they get better customer service.
