"Together with my sister we invited our mother to dinner here in Bad Kreuznach to the Hotel Restaurant Mühlentor. I haven't been there for a long time, but I've always been satisfied. My sister suggested it this time, as there should definitely be asparagus. I took over the reservation, which is processed via an online portal. The answer came at least very fast, and on the day after the visit I was also invited to a small survey for satisfaction. The three minutes I sacrificed... We stayed this Thursday evening early, we had parked on the Jahnhalle, walking to the restaurant were then good ten minutes. A short quarter of an hour before the time, we are in the restaurant, which is just 100 metres from the Kornmarkt, quite centrally located in the city. 100 m in the other direction there is also a large car park in which you always get space for the car park... From the outside, the building still looks very rustic and rustic. Many sayings are written to the façade, even painted vines decorate the front. Behind the house, in a small farm you can eat outside in the warm season, but I was never there. So let's get in the good room, I'm on my way. The first room, the bigger one, was like I remembered him. Spacious space, the wide bar, which is also about the corner, and a septare in the rear left corner. We were immediately noticed and after my notice of my reservation we were also taken around the corner. In the ancillary room over my last visit for more than four years... a bit changed. The tables are no longer so plentiful and close together. I value positively, since it was really very tight before and you sat almost close to the table neighbor. This time clearly better. The rear half of this room is locked with a curtain and is probably only released for breakfast. So we are accompanied by the friendly lady to the table, and the cards are handed to us. We are also asked for an aperitif desire and for a bottle of water. I quickly decide for a round of wine cult. The two ladies agree and we look into the cards. It can also be seen outside in extracts and, of course, can also be downloaded in the web as PDF. As hoped, Spargel is the big topic right now. Only with potatoes or with various “additions” of meat and fish can be expanded. Also there is always a “Mühlentor Menu” about 50€ for four courses with optional matching wine tasting 4 x 0.1 litre. So, while we were thinking about our possible food, the service lady served us the three winemakers Pinot Brut, Weingut Klostermühle Odernheim 5,40€ 0.1 . I know this champagne very well, I also have regularly in my stock and is just incredibly good at this price! The ordered bottle of water Gerolsteiner Medium – 5,50€ 0,75 also came and was presented to us at least at the beginning. Later we took over the post-casting ourselves. We then also gave up our order and talked or looked around. At the early evening some guests were present. Our service was also able to serve with perfect English and the dishes explain this only as an info on the edge. A young gentleman still in training brought us as a small appetite exciter two varieties of bread, where the darker tasted better than the simple, bright baguette, a slice of butter, unfortunately much too cold and therefore hardly caressable, some spundekäs a regional fresh cheese preparation with peppers and a few olives. The soup was actually foamy, in the middle placed the Tatar from the smoked salmon. A little kebel was at the fish on top. Unfortunately, the soup could only inspire me at the beginning. The first spoon was really great. Perfect consistency, creamy, foamy and incredibly intense to taste asparagus. But with each other spoon the soup became sweeter and more and more I tasted a vanilla tone. In the end, I was as if I had vanilla sauce in my plate. Very strange. The salmon stick is fine for itself, with the soup in my opinion also somewhat unhappy. I think cold smoked salmon must not get warm, otherwise it will be nice... My mother also found that the soup was a little too sweet, and when it was asked when it was cleared, and I was accused of doing so only unbelievingly. The only weakness of the service this evening... For dinner I ordered a semi-dry Riesling winery Marx Windesheim, Nahe – 2.80€ 0.1 . Fruity, spattery with pleasant residual sweets and fine mineral notes. Among the main foods my sister and I approved a rosé, also half-dry and also from the winery Marx. for me 0.1 to 2,80€, my sister 0.2 to 4,50€ It was nicely creamy, round and should be well tolerated with asparagus and creamy sauces. Drained butter, sauce bearnaise, sauce Hollandaise or Frankfurt green sauce. My sister chose Bearnaise, my mother's green from Frankfurt. Both got a generous portion perfectly gegarten Ingelheimer Spargel. The sauces were also served separately, just like the potatoes swung with rosemary. The alone was very tasty, both were very satisfied. As supplements it was possible to order extra, both had decided on something fleshy. The respective asparagus dishes were garned with freshly cut chives. Both ladies were extremely satisfied with portion and performance. Only the price design led to a short discussion at our table... The Morchel noodles were somewhat more reserved, very creamy the sauce, unfortunately only slightly tasting after the noble mushroom. The homemade noodles, on the other hand, are perfect again. I was completely satisfied with my choice, the wine also fits well. You're welcome. 4,5* We had no appetite for a dessert. We drank our drinks, ordered the invoice and then paid by card. After a little more than 90 minutes, we left the restaurant Mühlentor quite happy. On the way to the car we had to take a rest in the near wine Vinothek. There we left the beautiful evening with a glass of good near wine. Conclusion: The Hotel Restaurant Mühlentor is still a reliable and highly recommended address for good to very good regional cuisine. Except for a couple of small things and the soup that has been unhappy in my eyes, I've always had perfect soups there to convince the food. Therefore 4* if the soup fits again is more in it. The possibility to go there again is better for us now, as well as all year there are various motto menus that promise a lot of variety from the kitchen. "Da Vinci Bad Kreuznach The Da Vinci in Bad Kreuznach is located near the main railway station in the Salinenstraße. Parking is located directly behind the restaurant on Bourger Square. Until a few years ago, only from this side was the entrance, right before sitting for the beautiful days a year. Then it was possible to acquire the adjacent premises in the direction of the Salinenstraße and to enlarge the guest room and renovate properly. The result is to be seen. My sister had reserved on Wednesday night. I took her up and we met our mother in Bad Kreuznach and were in the restaurant on time at 18:30. We were not noticed, so we stood about half a minute and watched the many guests who were already present at dinner. It was amazingly full for a Wednesday evening in Bad Kreuznach. There were already 40 guests. In the immediate vicinity the Ristorante is missing... Then a young man came to our service and gave us a small table in the lower part. Almost everything was occupied here. The table was small. Would have been ideal for two. That's it. The table, dominated by dark wood optics, remained naked to a small red deck. On the deck, a high “Wire Vase” with an LED lamp as light, salt and pepper shaker then shared the place with a display for mussels (13€ so much space. We took place. The jackets were not taken by us and we hung them over the very comfortable chairs. The young man who served us over the evening was probably the junior and heard the name of Davide after the name sign.
