"Having seen some mixed reviews, we went along with a view that it might not be very good. Well it was quiet . it was early evening on a Wednesday in the middle of of an energy and financial crisis. The staff were attentive without being pushy and the food was clearly freshly made to order. The naan bread and chapati that we ordered with the main meal is the freshest bread I’ve ever eaten. My OH always has a curry when we go away and it’s been like that for over 30 yrs so when I say it was the freshest ever, I believe I have some experience to qualify that statement. The spices in our curry was spot on however we felt the flavours could have been a little more pronounced. The negative comments made, I felt in my opinion didn’t warrant it. Yes it’s a CASH ONLY establishment but that didn’t detract from the quality of the food, which is the most important part in a meal, in my opinion. The restaurant was basic in decor and settings, but as the quality of the food goes, give it a go."

Could do with a lick of paint. Wasn’t made to fell very welcome , food was ok , drink good , host not very friendly, CASH ONLY . Cash machine 1 minutes walk away .

A very welcome place to eat after missing the boat on a Monday night (open until 10pm with the next sailing at 02:30 in the morning. The food was “bang tidy” as well :

Food tasted better than average but very small portions of meat in each dish. They don’t take card payments which in this day and age is odd. Was ok but won’t be a return customer

We waited 50 minutes for our food to arrive. The restaurant clearly needed more staff. The food was distinctly average when it finally arrived. Then we learned that it was 'cash only '. Disappointing!

Starters were average at best and small portions, main courses OK. They wanted cash payment, claimed the card machine was not working!!. Interesting that a review from the 22/9 had the same issue. We have always used The Taste of India which we had no issues with but that looks like it has closed. Will think twice before going back

Don’t judge a book by its cover! From the frontage only you probably wouldn’t pick this place, and the decor inside doesn’t inspire you with confidence either. This being said, the food was very good and the staff were excellent. They don’t take card and don’t do receipts (take from that what you will! . Maybe not one for a romantic meal but certainly worth a visit with friends.
