"The place is very well situated since it is at the end of the Augustinerstrasse. It is therefore an ideal place to eat at lunch time if you have visitors and that you show them the city. The food is good and they propose quite...original plates, which change from the classical Italian or Schnitzel restaurants that you find everywhere in Mainz. This place is simply great for lunch time. The only minus: I went three times and each time the service was very slow. So if you go, put yourself in the relaxing mode and enjoy the food."

Dine at Oma Else at the last minute after strolling thru old town during a raining Sunday morning. Great ambiance with friendly staff. The brunch was delicious with excellent selection. Will definitely return in the near future...

I was at Oma Else and had a latte macchiato and a so called frische else which is a homemade lemonade that comes in four flavors (I had orange). I can recommend both the coffee and the lemonade. The ace is both cool and cozy... Try their breakfast, they serve it from on a saturday. Very convenient after a long night out on a friday!

My husband and I were in Mainz only for one night. We started our day the next morning with a relaxing outdoor breakfast. The waitress spoke English and was very helpful. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. We enjoyed watching the passers-by, and the...lady at the shop across the street sweeping the area in front of her door. Visualizza piatti

We eat and drink more often in the Grandma Else and it was always very nice! Pleasant ambience, very nice, attentive service and breakfast (especially the pancakes and the scrambled eggs with bread as well as the warm dishes are very delicious. Portion sizes are like grandma, we really never had to go hungry; so we like to come back at any time, it is only recommended!

The outside of Oma Else is under construction, but the inside is cozy and the food is great. They prepared a cheese plate for our party of that was great with their bread. It was cocktail hour as a bonus for us- our table...had an assortment of cocktails. Lots of positive talk about the London Mule the Mojito and the Hendricks Jin. Fantastic service. Traditional schnitzel and potato salad did not disappoint !

"we thought it was time that four years ago opened patagonia in the mainzer neustadt to test. the bus and tram connection is excellent, the parking situation is very difficult. there is an outside area at the restaurant, and the dining room is large and clear. because the guests were distributed outside and inside, the reservation about opentable would not have been necessary. so we were allowed to choose a table and were welcomed by the two ladies in the service friendly. we found a rectangle with a view of a large flatscreen, on which a diashow of pictures ran from patagonia, which first triggered television. steaks are offered in all variations, and the selection is quite difficult. we first took three empanadas with different fillings that relatiw quickly came out of the kitchen and taste very good.My wife decided in the main course for a rumpsteak of the even medium rare with grill potatoes and salad. I had previously researched the card in the internet and asked myself what a flap steak was. wikipedia helped and so I knew it was a cut that is very common in patagonia and comes very close to the us sirloin strip. I wanted to try this and ordered it **** in the bloom. I took a foil potato. both supplements were handed with the obligatory sourcream with coriander. the two supplemental salads were fresh, colourful and crisp, with the carrots also liked as a supplement. Even with critical consideration, the performance was in all respects of expectations: the services were extremely friendly and stood also in the meat selection with rat and did the side. the we chose to be perfectly met. confusingly I found the hints in the menu on the recommended per steak. these were all together and especially between medium and well done. that was not comprehensible for me because of the top quality of meat, all in all a very successful evening with a quite reasonable price-performance ratio. we like to come back to patagonia."
