"Place is a bit of a walk from the centre. The kitchen closes at 09:30 so make sure to come early if you want to have a dinner here. Food was really tasty and i was really excited since i’ve been craving for Asian food the whole day!! So we ordered the assorted meat , and tofu salad! I was really impressed with the tofu salad, the sauce was great and a perfect blend with the tofu and the greens+baby tomatoes. I also loved their side appetizers (potato with sweet sauce and bean sprouts) They have lovely decorations in the restaurant as well."

Amazing experience! The staff was extremely friendly, they explained everything and helped us out with the Bbq. The quality of the food was superb and good value for money. 100% recommend a must in Edinburgh.

Went there this evening with my boyfriend. We ordered ox tongue, soon dubu jjigae, L. A. galbi and boiled rice. The dishes tasted delicious, however it would be great if they served a slightly larger portion and more side dishes.

This is a fantastic Korean restaurant with excellent staff. By far, it’s the best Korean cuisine I’ve experienced in the UK. We plan to explore the rest of the menu because everything we tried was delicious. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly.

This is the best korean bbq. From the food to the staff everything was excellent. The cook came and spoke to us and also helped with the cooking especially of the steak. The food was truly great. Especially item number 30 on the menu, deep fried prawns with a sweet chilli sauce.

Service is very attentive. If you like to try new Asian cuisine other than the usual Chinese, Japanese or Thai, this would be a good introduction to Korean for you. The restaurant is clean and well managed. Food is definitely on the salty side and need to drink a lot of water afterwards to kill the thirst. My favourite dish is Korean fried chicken in sweet soy sauce.

Was pleasantly surprised by food and service at Ong Gie, this is the first authentic Korean restaurant that I've been to in Edinburgh and will definitely visit again. Some of my top favorites from the meal were the kimchi bokoom bab and the So bulgogi. However, it would have been preferable if more sides were included with the bbq and if the so bulgogi had a bigger portion.

I dined with a large group of friends, and we truly indulged. The BBQ offered an impressive variety of dishes, and both the meat and seafood were outstanding. The chef even came out to assist with cooking the scallops and showed us the ideal technique. The staff was friendly, and the food was excellent—definitely a place worth visiting with friends, as there’s plenty to share!

We ended up ordering beef bulgogi, pork belly, and another beef dish in a garlic sauce, served with salad and rice. All three dishes were fantastic, but the highlight for me was definitely the beef bulgogi. It was so delicious that I can't stop thinking about it even two days later! We've had Korean BBQ at other restaurants in London, but this was by far the best we've experienced in the UK. We will definitely return on our next visit to Edinburgh!

"new kapitel has caught my attention after I was on top ten on trip advisor only months after the opening in the oktober last year. that and the fact that it is open for my early january birthday, made it the perfect place to celebrate to become a little older. I was with the man and his family. the man is quite used to my taste and good to the kind of kitchen that would appeal to me for a special occasion; his family not so much and I was filled with shame as his mother scornful went through the menu trying to find something she would enjoy. I've eaten with the family of the man, and I know they enjoy eating, so I think it's a failure of the menu that it is not accessible. the benming always blooming and garnish can appeal to some, but for others it is overcomplicated and it is necessary to find a balance between the two. we start with the starters and I go for venison sour wort pithvier. the venison was underheated and incredibly dry, to the happiness the sourded a little moisturizing and so saved the whole dish, but the aromen were quite not clear, except the garnitur of plastered mushrooms I thoroughly enjoyed. for the largest part we chose a fish dish for our main,- sea trout, smoked muddles, petersilien and coast herbs. where the starter fell, the main recording is getting back. the dish is rich and creamy, and each element adds the complexity of the taste as a whole, without disturbing. the concept is now an old one, and it would be deceptive if it had not worked, as it would essentially pay with this place. I enjoyed my meal in new chapter, although I do not agree with it is stellar status under the hierarchy of edinburgh eateries. it is top ten position is just a flash in the pan of hot popularity, and in time it will be plated in the upper half of the middle stage where it belongs. and that is where it belongs, the dishes can be plated with a michelin star in understood, and the venue and the supporting media has the clean lines and empty slate look of fine but eat the team has a long gone to go if that is their real aim. at the end, although it was a beautiful meal, and cheap (at the moment I would not be surprised to see their prices slowly rise) and the man’s mother found something they enjoyed and that is the most important."
