Osteria Nero D'avola

It took a little bit of searching but what a gem of a place! Gorgeous food and the waiters were wonderful and chose the wine for us. A definite must!

Had a beautiful romantic meal for two at this restaurant. The view is stunning and the food even better. Staff are attentive and informative and eager to help with any queries. Top quality seafood is on the menu and the terrace is a beautiful location...for a meal. Well worth a visit.

abbiamo mangiato in alcuni buoni ristoranti in taormina che non era uno di loro. il cibo era sovrasaturato nel seno di carne media e la pasta di inchiostro del pesce di inchiostro. il vino bianco del vetro era moderato (l'unico posto in taormina, dove. che era il caso). per il prezzo non grande troverebbe un altro posto dove mangiare in città.

il cameriere era scortese e innocente. ci ha fatto sentire non volendo e fuori dal posto. siamo una famiglia di inglese e italiano e viaggiato in molti luoghi in Italia. abbiamo mangiato qui prima, ma la nostra esperienza in questa materia era terribile e non sarebbe mai tornato. Se non fosse stato per lui, avremmo una bella esperienza. il cibo era favoloso.

Siamo capitati per caso in questo posto durante un giro a Taormina. Il ristorante si trova leggermente fuori dalle vie del centro quindi garantisce una cena tranquilla sul loro terrazzo. Noi abbiamo mangiato un secondo di carne, il tonno alla cipudda (buonissimo) e un contorno a testa, due bicchieri di vino acqua e un ottimo amaro. Come tutti i ristoranti di Taormina non è propriamente a buon prezzo ma la qualità paga sempre! Soddisfatti!

overpriced even by taormina standard. very ordinary grilled otopus not much taste left, as it is not very fresh and perhaps overcooked €25, a very common salat, tomato, carrots was an amazing €12 . lighting in the veranda-Dreary and Piaf...musk radiating. I was the lonely when I was early and the service staff bored and not concentrated. a mistake to have followed previous reviews and chose this as the first dinner of my 5 night stay. much better and more reasonable Easterias and restaurants nearby.

four years ago we ate here every night for a week. the location is directly opposite the entrance to the san domenico palace hotel, which is expected to be reopened next year after a four-year four season renovation. it will be a very lively restaurant. here. I had forgotten, two things that one is the most portions of dishes serving two generously and secondly, how good the meatballs they are incredibly tasty and enough for the exchange as main after sharing a plate of sardnel and a bowl of pasta and salat. good wine list with some excellent when pricy wein. I love the duca di salalaputra. less buzz in this time of the year perhaps, but still excellent eating and wein.

Our first night in Taormina and we found this place after having read about its owners . What a fabulous evening. We were tired from driving , Italian driving can be stressful) got to our accommodation late , dropped our bags , changed and...headed straight out . Fortunately Osteria Nero D’Avola was only a few lanes behind our accommodation . Staff were helpful , suggested a wine to go with our meals , great wine selection. For us you measure a restaurant on how many items you could order from the menu that you want to eat . It was hard to choose one item , the menu has a large selection of wonderful items . The Anchovies to start then squid ink pasta and scampi, Gambero linguini and a crisp...

We tried this restaurant today as it was recommended in a guidebook as one of the top 10 in Sicily. No way is that correct. There may have been a change of owner but if you look at the gallery of their website not one...of the dishes there could be found on the menu. The website also seems to have no menu which is odd but now we understand. This is a seafood restaurant but without prawns on the menu?? We had a seafood pasta starter but sent it back as it had all the shells but very little seafood and even some closed shells. (Despite sending it back, we were charged for it We had fish of the day but what came were 3 slabs of fish per plate, which were grilled with a very basic salad. It was...
