"I was very disappointed with my recent visit to this restaurant. My family and I came across this place because of its attractive exterior, but we soon found out that our evening would not be enjoyable. We had to wait for what felt like forever before someone finally took our order, nearly thirty minutes later. We asked for the chicken biryani to be mild for a child, but it arrived overly spicy and tasteless. The other dishes lacked flavor as well. When we expressed our concerns to the staff, they were unhelpful and did not offer any solution or apology. To make matters worse, we noticed a £3.18 gratuity charge added to our bill without our consent. This lack of respect for customer choice is unacceptable. Overall, our experience at this restaurant was terrible. The food was mediocre, the service was poor, and the surprise charge on the bill was unacceptable. I would not recommend dining at this establishment. Choose a different place to eat to avoid disappointment."

The spicy poppadoms (very unusual, I had not tried anything similar before) and fish biryani were especially tasty. The bhindi was delicious too. Cheerful and friendly place we will be back!

We love a trip to Southall and Poornima is our favourite place to take a break from shopping and have some delicious food. Try the sweet lassi, chai tea, yummy sweets from the front counter and all the savoury treats. The owners are so friendly and always recognise us. Highly recommend :

We made an impromptu stop at this cafe and it turned out to be a fantastic choice. The samosas were excellent, the pakoras were amazing (perfectly crisp with the right mix of vegetables and besan), the parathas were crisp and flaky, and there was a nice variety of chutneys. The masala chai was the perfect accompaniment to these delicious treats. The seating was very clean and comfortable, and the staff was extremely helpful. We will definitely be visiting again.

Avoid this place. We went for parantas, expecting freshly made hot ones. They were hard and stale, warmed up in the microwave. We asked for butter and received the miniature ones you get in hotels with breakfast. The Ras Malai had gone off. We highlighted this and got no apology. We received no bill, just a verbal quote. I questioned this as it was high considering the small amount of food we had. They charged us £3.60 for the miniature butters! When we questioned it, the staff were arrogant and rude. We left, vowing never to return.

"If you live in or visit Hanwell you must take a lazy walk down by the locks and build up an appetite before heading to the W7 Emporium. It’s a little white door by a crappy old man pub sat next to a small florist. Open the door and the atmosphere is straight away comfortable, your away from the street and simply relaxed and at home. The staff are friendly and offer as much banter as you want to be involved with so this is nice and a change from the branded offerings. The furniture is mix and match and the space light and airy so it fits well with Hanwells vibe and there is an outdoor space for the summer. The menu I would describe as funky modern Mediterranean, and there are no sausages which for me can be an issue. But if I’m being 100% honest I couldn’t care less here, the options here are well thought and imaginative. If you want a fry up there are other places in Hanwell to get one but if you want a Mexican there is only one place and that’s here. Ok I’ve given away my ultimate fave thing on the menu it’s what I have and it’s spot on. Poached eggs, nice bread, salad, crispy bacon, avocado and spicy sauce all out together and presented beautifully. So here we go it’s hands down the best place in Hanwell and if you want wine with brunch that’s fine because they serve that too. Have a couple then walk back to the canal and enjoy the afternoon whatever the season it’s a regular weekend jaunt and a compromise between a fry up for me and something healthy for the wife. In the eternal battle of good verses evil the Emporium emerges victorious every time."
