We nipped in our our way home and so pleased we did …the place is lovely .Tge service was friendly and professional and the food was delish !! A perfect end to our mini break !!

Stunning location on river lugg, lovely atmosphere with fires, delicious Sunday roast best beef we have ever had. Friendly helpful staff great service. Dog friendly in bar area.

Quite simply the best 'traditional ' Sunday lunch I have ever eaten!! I had the beef option and friends had the chicken and the fish. Everyone was impressed. The puddings were all equally as good. Thanks very much for a wonderful occasion. Visualizza piatti

This dog-friendly pub is lovely and welcoming, with a great selection of drinks and food on the menu. The food is always outstanding, with the chicken being a standout option at lunchtime, especially when served with a side of red cabbage. The service at this place is always excellent.

So my sister got married here this month and I was so happy she did. The staff were excellent the food was superb and the accommodation was spot on. I want to also pick out George who oversaw the day and night with personable professional efficiency. Would recommend a stay or an event here. We will be back. 10/10

Great service and attention to detail. Not an extensive menu, but the food we had was wonderful, so many flavours and textures. All locally sourced., all served piping hot. Nice bar area with seating, a good selection of drinks for before or after dinner. Although the food came quite quickly we were not rushed at all. A family member booked the Riverside for an impromptu pre-Christmas lunchtime meal for 8. Although I 'd eaten at the Riverside many years ago, I suggested we meet there given the positive reviews the place had received over the last 12 months or so. In summary, I thought it was good but I wasn 't 'blown away '. Everybody enjoyed their meals; the starters were OK and the mains were good (which ranged from open steak sandwich to duck and fish). Everything was hot and very well presented and the service was prompt. One diner thought the menu was a bit limited. Although I can see why it 's there, for me I 'd ditch the 'lite bites ' and put a proper steak on the menu. Pricewise, it worked out at...

Living just down the road it was high time to try out this local place again. Not been here for a few years so interested to see how the place has changed. I must say we weren't dissapointed. From the moment we walked in I could tell these people knew how to run a restaurant. We were shown straighjt to our table and given menus and offered a drink as well as water. The menue was limited, but interesting. The wine by the glass was excellent. We both had the duck, which was cooked to perfection. The service was attentive without being overbearing. The establishment has a lot of character and is located in a beautiful area. I have dined at many places with similar accolades, so I feel confident in sharing my opinion. The open steak sandwich was delicious, with perfectly cooked lean steak and tasty chips. However, I noticed that the portion sizes varied from my previous visit, with smaller portions of both chips and toppings this time around. It was disappointing to feel short-changed as a customer when expecting the same quality and quantity of food. I also tried the Sunday lunch here and was disappointed with the cauliflower puree instead of actual cauliflower on the plate. Surprisingly, the restaurant only offers bottled soft drinks...
