Lovely restaurant, friendly staff, brilliant seasonal menu. A gem of a place you get tempted to take home goodies from the attached farm shop.

Wonderful food, service, location and farm shop! Staff are really amazing. Food is super quality. Pleasant relaxed atmosphere. Great parking and views stunning.

Went for a Saturday morning brunch. We had the strawberry cheesecake french toast, biscoff porridge, and a mini full english. It was not what we envisioned eating for breakfast but they sounded too good to not try. All of it was lovely, and was definitely refreshing to see something a little different on a breakfast menu.

Had a fab lunch today served by Grace who was lovely and friendly. Hubby had their Turkey and stuffing bap with Turkey gravy and we even got a side portion of this to dunk our chips (it’s a northern thing) and it was the best gravy I have tasted in a long while. Craig the chef needs a pat on the back for making proper gravy. If only it was for sale in the shop I would visit just for that! Fab food as usual and my son loved his festive mint hot chocolate complete with mini candy cane! We are fairly regular visitors to the restaurant and will keep coming while the food and service is this good.

After exploring the delightful, and nearby, Locke Park we decided to visit the Rob Royd Farm Shop. This was our first visit, and we were glad that we chose to dine there. A large car park is available and the entrance to the restaurant is via the delightful, and high-quality farm shop. It was around 1pm and very busy but we were quickly offered a table in the lovely dining room. The menu offered an excellent choice of dishes to suit all tastes. We had ham, cheese, and chutney sandwiches which were well presented with salad and freshly made using quality ingredients. A side of triple cooked chips completed our choice. I had a terrible service with Rob Royd. Let me share my experience... I made a Christmas order to which it stated on the collection that the store was open from 8am. Arrived for 7.55am and the store didn't open until gone 8.20am. This affected my morning plans. It is absolutely unacceptable. It was Christmas Eve. The people in store were just looking at everyone freezing cold outside and queuing whilst drinking coffee and ignoring us trying to talk to them through the window. There were further issues in store when I tried to collect my order. I got no apology on the day and neither did the other customers. This is unacceptable. I raised a complaint but it was quite clear I was just a nuisan...

Well what can I say we've eaten and shopped here for years but today was a different experience we ate inside was seated quite quickly ordered food and drinks when the food came it was served with red wine gravy I like food wet so asked for more gravy when I was half way through .The gravy never appeared so I asked again and was told it was been warmed up ? Anyway it nèva came so quarter of my meal was wasted waiting for gravy.We asked for more drinks but hay ho they didn't appear either we again had to ask when they did arrive the waitresses didn't seem to care a jot We would have had a dessert but was never asked weather we would like one so left with out another drink or dessert .The gent...

Visited for breakfast today. Nice environment, clean, light and airy. It can be a bit noisy as there are high ceilings and hard floors, it wasn't too bad today we sat next to the wall which I think helped rather than being in the middle. Service was good and prompt, food arrived quickly and on hot plates (I love that) had a ranged of breakfast items from granola, breakfast butty, eggs Benedict. All very nice definitely no complaints. One negative for us on this visit, we asked for a pot of hot water as the pots of tea are quite small. We were told we couldn't have a pot of hot water we had to order more tea!!!
