"We went for dinner with some friends that were made very welcome by our hosts Martin and Jill and Connor the waiter There is a tremendous selection of seafood available and I enjoyed a lovely fresh Cromer crab followed by a large plaice Halibut and...some monkfish are also on the menu and there was a tremendous selection of puddings Martin recommended various wines to us all of which were as a decent price The atmosphere is fantastic and the restaurants only seats about so personal service is guaranteed It has been years since I last days her but we will definitely be returning very soon Thank you for a wonderful evening"

"My husband and I visited here by chance this evening with our 3 children after another restaurant had made a mistake with our booking and was unable to seat us. Trying to think of somewhere else, my husband called the Bay Horse and luckily for us they had just had a cancellation but advised they were busy and that there could be a bit of a wait for food. We were greeted by a number of friendly staff on arrival and I must say, the service throughout the evening really stood out. All staff were attentive and friendly and I didn 't feel we had any longer wait than I would expect, despite being busy. We had main courses and desserts, all of which were delicious and the meal overall was good value for money. It 's been several years since we dined here but we will absolutely be returning, even the children said before leaving, can we come here again? Chance brought us here tonight but good food and good service will bring us back!"

"Visited twice in a few days for different occasions with different people. The venue and food both lovely but staff extremely inattentive on both occasions. Couldn’t attract their attention for love nor money whilst they gathered behind the till chatting between themselves oblivious of customers needing to order drinks, food, more cutlery, Parmesan, the bill etc. We were totally ignored. The second visit, only three tables were occupied so very quiet. We received the same couldn’t be bothered attitude, won’t be returning."

"Spent an evening last night at The Royal Oak for a 60th Birthday Celebration, food was very good with everyone cleaning their plates, service was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. Stayed the night for B&B in recently refurbished bedrooms, perfectly comfortable with comfortable beds, upstairs still a work in progress but not far off finished, rooms have TV and tea/coffee making facilities, air conditioning of a next door property was a bit noisy, not sure what time it kicked in but noticeable around 7:00am. Shower was tank fed and a little tricky to set perfectly but plenty of hot water. Breakfast was excellent with fresh fruit, fruit juice, cereal, full English and a Vegetarian option, toast and coffee with great service. If you wanted more just had to ask. Friendly staff and would use again."

"Outstanding place! Staff are amongst the friendliest and most helpful that I have met. They were open til but stop serving hot food at serving just drinks and cake. I got there about five minutes past not realising this. They were however, so amenable and flexible and were able to offer me soup. It came with bread and was a really good portion in a very deep bowl. Best serving of super tasty soup I have had, they weren't stingy at all on portion size. Soup was wonderful and just what was needed after a long walk in nearby environs. Homemade soup was white onion, thyme and apple and was delish. I also had a cheese and leek roll which they offered to heat up for me. Unfortunately it had been overdone in a microwave and was a bit charred crisp inside. Doesn't warrant starrage loss by any means. Hot chocolate was great and didn't last long, ha ha. Homemade cakes are good too. Some outdoor seating at the front on the pavement and more seating upstairs inside. Good quirky decor. Loo upstairs. Lovely scented fresh daffodils on the table, nice touch. Really liked this place. Exemplary staff, just bent over backwards to help and went the extra mile. For that alone I'd return but try their soup, it's wonderful. Thank you for your kindness. Highly recommended and appreciated."
