Spent New Years Eve here after a long day walking the coast path and it was as good as it gets. Wonderful host and fantastic waitress set the scene for a gastronomic delight. Superb ambience and outstanding value for money. Perfect end to and...start to An absolute must place to eat if you are in the area.

We were really lucky to get a last-minute table on a Saturday night. A lovely, cosy little restaurant with a buzzing atmosphere and friendly staff. Had a delicious meal at superb value Not many places in Cornwall Devon serving fresh food of...this quality at that kind of price on a Saturday night! Highly recommend it, particularly the Sea Bass!

I haven’t enjoyed an entire meal so much in years! All tasty, fresh and wonderfully cooked and all so fairly priced at I’ve never tasted such fresh scallops and a decent-sized portion, too! Puddings very original and delicious. Menu offers creative...options as well as plain eating. Cosy surroundings and a warm welcome, too. First day on holiday, first restaurant, and what a great place. We booked Salamander based on the reviews and have to say, we was not disappointed. Great service, fantastic quality food. Simple but elegant in presentation, but amazing in flavour and quality. I had the...hot crab pot as a starter, followed by local John Dory then finished with salted caramel burnt custard, and all for You can’t go wrong with this little gem.

Visited on a week day but having read the reviews was very pleased that we could walk in without a booking. Was going to have a main and desert but after looking at the specials decided to have duck spring rolls as a starter and...was so glad we did, was so tasty and well presented, main meals of chicken and lamb did not disappoint absolutely delicious, no room for a pudding though. Would definitely recommend, great value for money and the staff friendly and informative just what you want.

My Husband and I booked an evening meal at the Salamander Restaurant in Mevagissey during a recent self-catering holiday in St Austell. It was our wedding anniversary so we wanted a special evening and the very good reviews on trip advisor said it all. We...really enjoyed our meals and the excellent service, I had duck and my Husband had chicken. The food was cooked to perfection and well presented. We had booked a taxi in advance to take us back to St Austell but sadly the company let us down but Hazel kindly found another taxi company to take us back to our accommodation.
