"When we arrived at Rufford on New Years Eve at about noon the carpark was bursting at the seams. As we had not booked a table anywhere we thought we would starve or eat elsewhere. After fighting our way through crowds in the courtyard, the shops and even the toilets, we were not hopeful of any table space. We found Lord Savile's tucked away by chance. We were shown to a table straight away by a very polite lady. We were made to feel at ease and could not believe how few people were sat eating. Looking through the limited menu we all opted for the carvery. That turned out to be a smart choice. My gammon was very tasty. The cheese mashed potatoes were an instant favourite. We all agreed the meal was superb. Afterwards, walking the park, we questioned the price and agreed again it was very reasonable for the quality. It was a bitterly cold day, and yet people were opting to sit outside at the other food outlet. Part of this could be the signage on the site or maybe we caught it at the right time. Either way, I for one will be back to sample the menu again."

A party of 6 went to celebrate a birthday. We were at the 5pm sitting. None of us could fault the meal, the staff or the setting. Highly recommended.

We went to the Savile for an early Christmas lunch, and the food, service and ambience was excellent. It made a family gathering really memorable. Brilliant.

Rufford opened the restaurant for Valentines dinner and they made a great job of it. The food was excellent, all home made and presented well. Nice service from the staff as well. Well done Rufford.

A lovely evening spent in this atmospheric restaurant. 3 course meal very reasonably priced nicely presented and with a good choice of main course and desserts. Very attentive and friendly staff. Will definately be visiting again.

The best carvery I have had in many many years so much choice and so well cooked service was brilliant nothing was too much trouble also cater for vegetarians lots of choice the desserts are amazing will definitely be back in the new year thank you

Return visit to Savile's for our annual family Boxing day meal. Yet again, great service, great food. Set menu and carvery, so the only downer for me was the very limited vegan options but the chef did say he would cook me something if I wanted but I stuck with the delicish carvery.

We had a delicious carvery which was the nicest I've had in years all vegetables were fresh and cooked to perfection. The sweet course was apple crumble and was delicious. This was served in a lovely setting, the staff were polite and very friendly. It was worth every penny and I will certainly go back again.

Have given 5 star to reflect all the previous visits here. Rang Parkwood to try and arrange booking in July. Was informed that Savile's is now PERMANENTLY closed. What a loss, can I take this opportunity to thank staff for all their wonderful meals and service over many years. (Just a hint to Rufford Abbey's website might have been a good idea to make everyone aware of this closure)

We visited this restaurant for New Years Eve lunch expecting the same quality we enjoyed before the catering company was changed but we were a little disappointed. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and the food was well cooked but the plates were barely warm and the food could have been hotter. Small criticisms but addressing them would make for an excellent lunch experience.
