Great staff, wonderful atmosphere, decent food, and sensible pricing. A proper and honest pub that performs well. A favourite haunt for the local matlots and understandably so.

I had a full English breakfast, it was huge, delicious and very reasonably priced. The atmosphere and decor are perfect for the location on the historic dock. Great service, too. Highly recommended.

Compared to some of the more touristy pubs, this restaurant offers fantastic fish and chips and a delicious pint of Abbott beer. The staff serve with a smile, making for a pleasant dining experience.

This is our first visit and we had the bbq chicken and cheese and bacon burger, both were really really good, all the staff were very friendly and the general vibe made us both feel really great!! We will definitely be coming back!! Thank you!

The staff at this restaurant are friendly and chatty, treating guests like old friends. The atmosphere is great and it's a lovely place to relax. It's the perfect spot for a break after visiting the dockyard. As customers leave, they are thanked by the staff.

Great English Pub with warm And inviting service. Enjoyable Lunch with a few English Faves on the menu. Clean place and food was spot on also a great selection of local and international brews. Special shout out to out to the amazing service and hospitality from Leanne and Chrissie who ensured our quick visit was “top notch” and thanks for the extra special attention to our two daughters. Highly recommend if you’re ever in or around the Portsmouth area.

Daughter is in the RN and spends many an hour drinking here. So on a visit down from East Yorkshire we (me wife) was itching to see what all the fuss was about. So so very glad we did! What a fantastic night we had, made to feel so welcome by all the staff. Good variety of hand pulled beers on offer also. Great setting with seating outside to view the harbour. Definitely will be popping in again for a few beers next time we come down to visit our daughter.

After many great visits in the past, yesterday's experience at the restaurant was a bit disappointing. The bar staff, two young ladies, seemed uninterested and lacking enthusiasm compared to previous visits where the male staff were welcoming and enthusiastic. Unfortunately, there was also a problem with the taps which limited our drink options to bottled drinks in the fridge. However, on the positive side, the chef who brought out our meals was excellent. Although one meal was slightly wrong, he swiftly rectified the mistake and returned with the correct order, apologizing for the error.
