Fantastic hotel, service was very good and the room was clean and spacious.

Were so impressed with lunch book for dinner. Were not disappointed. Food drinks were exceptionally good. A little more expensive than some places but well worth it. Nice feel to the place backed up with quality ingredients in the drinks.

What a disappointment, incredibly poor service which would not be acceptable in an average chain restaurant, therefore to experience it at The Governor is doubly disappointing.No manners or etiquette from staff, dirty sticky menus and at £42 for a half bottle of Champagne.End of an era.

Went for coffee at 11.00 am. We could hardly hear ourselves speak for the sound of hoovering in the Brasserie itself. After ten minutes we asked if they could stop the noise as it was not very relaxing! The coffee arrived which was ok but the 3 biscuits cost over £4. Why not four biscuits for two people Much better places in Chester for half the price.

Visited for the Champagne Sunday lunch. I was a little concerned as not having visited the restaurant before and having read some of the reviews. However, the experience was first rate from start to finish. The staff were very professional but not over bearing. The food was excellent. I would heartily recommend the Chester Grosvenor Restaurant for Sunday lunch

We stayed December 2023. Not impressed at all. Living of its old name but no money invested. Example is hand rails coming down the main staircase all chipped and dirty. Our room was a superior and the window wouldn’t open. Electric socket hanging off the wall and decor dated. Extremely overpriced and not what it was back in the day. Not worth the money AT ALL. Stay somewhere else. An insult to what it was tbh

My mum and I called in after a busy girls day shopping and what a disappointing end to a lovely day. We were told to Take a seat anywhere and a member of staff would come over, however after 10 minutes of waiting no one came, even though the waitress had looked over a few times But chose to ignore us. A shame they couldn’t of been as polite as the door man, not what you expect from a prestigious establishment. We certainly will not be returning.

Came for lunch with my grandmother, unfortunately the lady front of house in the restaurant decided right from the get go she didn’t like us very much ! After being told to find ourselves a table, we ordered our food and drinks, we then noticed everyone else coming in was offered a choice of menu and politely shown to a table (neither of which happened to us).. anyway ! We got our drinks, my grandmother was given soda instead of tonic, which when we pointed out, the correct drink was basically thrown at the table. HOWEVER, the food was amazing! Shame for the rude lady front of house.
