"This is a very small restaurant located quite far away from the main harbour. Staff were friendly and food was okay, but definitely overpriced. My partner and I were very keen to visit this restaurant after reading some amazing reviews, however, we were disappointed when we arrived. The restaurant’s website claims it to be the most romantic restaurant in Italy and 6th most romantic in the world, however this is a bit of a stretch. The restaurant is very small, accommodating only around 6 tables in total, 5 of which had a sea view. Since we visited for dinner, we couldn’t appreciate the views very much as it was dark outside, but I imagine it to be lovely during the day. The food was pretty good, my partner ordered the lasagne and I had the shrimps (I thought I was ordering prawns as stated on the menu, but I was presented with shrimps). The lasagne was very good, but I was far from delighted with my seafood as it wasn’t as was described on the menu and was simply overpriced. Albeit, I thoroughly enjoyed the tiramisu, and ended up getting another! The website asks for a €40pp deposit when making a reservation, which can be reached rather comfortably, however this restaurant is not ‘high end’ enough to demand such high deposits. There are plenty of other restaurants in Amalfi serving cheaper food, in more convenient locations with no deposit requirement. Overall, I didn’t have a terrible experience, but it did not live up to the standards I was expecting after reading so many raving reviews about it. It essentially felt like I was sat in someone’s living room that had been rearranged to look like a restaurant with average food and cheap table/chairs etc, making this experience far from ‘the most romantic dinner’."

"Eccellente! Non è necessario essere esperti gastronomici per affermare che un piatto di tagliatelle con gamberi e pomodorini sia davvero delizioso. E che dire dei ravioli di zucca? Il dessert, poi: millefoglie scomposta ai lamponi... Sublime. Eleganza e semplicità sono protagoniste al ristorante Raffaele, con cibi squisiti e un personale sempre sorridente e gentile. Il menù di stagione è fantastico, con piatti tradizionali rivisitati e ingredienti freschi. Ci siamo trovati davvero bene, ma la sorpresa finale è stata il conto: davvero economico per quanto abbiamo gustato e per il posto in cui ci trovavamo. Torneremo sicuramente a Ravello, e la nostra tappa culinaria sarà il Ristorante da Raffaele... Grazie grazie grazie!"

"Eravamo in due. Ci siamo fatti condizionare dalla media delle recensioni di Google, e purtroppo non possiamo dire di essere stati soddisfatti. Il locale non ha di fatto personalità: è un classico ristorante da hotel. Bella senza dubbio la terrazza con una vista spettacolare, di cui non abbiamo usufruito perché faceva un po' freddo. Il personale di sala è cordiale e disponibile. Un po' truce invece la signora che ci ha accolti. Sulle pietanze c'è da disquisire. Mentre i paccheri al limone con gamberetti e la zuppa di cozze e vongole sono da giudicare di buon livello, non così è stato per la frittura, troppo unta. Anche gli stuzzichini offerti prima della cena non erano un granché: non sembravano così freschi. Poi ho chiesto se hanno qualche birra locale, e mi hanno risposto peroni o nastro azzurro. Mah. I prezzi sono allineati alla zona e per questo non li considero adeguati alle pietanze e al contesto. Nel complesso non possiamo ritenerla un'esperienza che lascia il segno."

"I wish I was exaggerating this was the MOST delicious meal I had in Italy! Not sure why this restaurant isn't Michelin rated! Goes to show the simplicity of Southern Italian cuisine is far better than the most renowned restaurants. I didn't have to reach for any added salt or pepper and for those who know me, that says A LOT. The lemon sauce for the pasta was so addictive that I wish I had more bread to sop it up. Anyway, TLDR you MUST eat here!"
