"Being vegetarians on holiday in Soutwold looking for a good lunch/dinner, we walked up one side of the main street and down the other, looking for a reasonably priced eatery. Opted for Squiers who offered an all day breakfast and was told they do a vegetarian option. When we got inside there was a 'special of the day ' board, and it was offering a nut roast, which we opted for. WOW, a nut roast with a selection of 8 vegetables, beautifully cooked and delicious, £9.95. If this had been on the board outside, vegetarians would have been fighting to get in the door. Squiers, let people know what vegetarian options you offer. Thank you for a really delicious dinner, but you could have saved us some footfall if you had advertised your vegetarian options outside, we could have chosen you much sooner."

Top quality cream tea with fresh, warm scones and just the right amount of cream and jam. The sweet shop is a great bonus!

had a nice place to lunch on a cold windy day in the city. the food was also very tasty decent size portion! the staff was friendly polite and made a great job, as there was no place in the restaurant.

We arrived at 3:20 pm on a rainy afternoon and were disappointed to find that the cafe was closed. A chain was placed across the doorway, leaving us to wonder if they were not interested in or in need of our business.

beautiful small caffe with a large selection of sandwiches and somewhat larger lunch. all freshly prepared and delicious. ordered fruit crumbs and asked that it will drowned in custard and that's exactly what I have from friendly staff great service.

we had a nice meal here. my man had steak and ale cake with 5 fresh vegetables. he said it was delicious. I had nice lasagne, which was full of sweet and very tasty. it came with a small salad and garlic bread. really good value for money and very generous portions. very friendly staff. highly recommended.

2021. traditional homely tasty, hot and cold food, nice friendly staff, variations of the food on the menu possible, it seems. I wish I had found this place earlier in my vacation. back safely! 2022.Another holiday and this place was on our trip. excellent, really hot food. not sure I want to eat for the rest of the day

We visited this restaurant over 45 years ago, when Southwold was a simpler place without all the shops and cafes it has today. Squires had a charming atmosphere with its delicious scones and small pots of butter. The lunch options were reasonably priced and there was a good variety to choose from. Our waitress was lovely. However, in order to maintain its charm and timeless appeal, the restaurant could benefit from some updates and decluttering while still preserving its character.
