"This was one of our best meals in France! The menu of tapas is written on a big board as it changes everyday depending on what the chef buys fresh at the market daily. We tried to order in French but as soon as the staff figured out we spoke English, they sent the chef himself out to help us as he loves to practise his English skills! Chris was amazing! He described each of the tapas items to us in such detail that we ordered just about each item as it sounded all so tempting. There was hardly any room on our tiny table for the patatas bravas, fried peppers, all the pinxtos (I loved them all but the shrimp & avocado and the goat cheese ones were my favourites), chorizo and ham coquettes, and finally fresh cockles that Chris talked my husband into trying (very fresh and swimming in garlic butter). We chose a very nice Chilean red wine to accompany our feast. A fabulous meal!"

Come on, dish, dessert! 1 small glass of wine, always up. Discovery kitchen and quality table. Don't change anything!

Stumbled across this gem. Jumped in because it was rainy and cold to find dellicios food and tremendous service. The salmon was incredible. Had the home made snickers for dessert. Amazing!

If you like tapas, this is the place to go. This is a family-type business, with one fine chap serving many, and boy,he does a good job.Just a bit off the beaten track, but well worth time/effort. You'll love the food/wine/ambience in this cosy restaurant

We arrived rather later on a Saturday night but the welcome was warm and the food ... Out of this world. Such delicate harmony of ingredients and a delightful presentation !The choice of wine was very wise - Thank you for the excellent advise !We will be back !!

Second time I went to this restaurant and for the second time I enjoyed and excellent quality of tapas. Fresh, authentic ingredients, amazing wine and friendly service. The restaurant is pretty small, so I suggest you to book at least a week before if you wanna have a table.

We went for a romantic night for our wedding anniversary . After having tried a lot of restaurant in Nantes we were so happy to finally find a restaurant with great food and great service . It actually is rare to get both ! Food is very fresh and nice . The chocolate dessert is to die for. Ordered some wine with tapas and it was really nice . I highly recommend this restaurant which doesn't deserve the bad marks it got .

I came here with a group of friends one evening in the summer - we booked in advance but still had to wait thirty minutes for our table. When we were finally seated, we had to wait an hour before the server gave us menus and asked if we wanted a drink. The service was incredibly slow, and the restaurant wasn't full. There was one tapas that I didn't care for, and the server asked me about it, so I told him politely, and he relayed this information to the cook, who came out and shouted at me in Spanish, and it was really awkward for all of us. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

I have always found the idea of tapas interesting but whenever I have been in a restaurant I have always felt that I did not know how the system worked and everybody seemed to get more interesting food than I did. This is not a problem at Tapas et Vinos, the cook is on hand to explain everything and help you choose. The food, both the tapas and the regular menu is excellent. The menu is very well planned so that there is a lot of variety, but everything is very fresh and inventive. The wine waiter will guide you in your choice of wine, and you can often get to taste a wine before you order a bottle; most wines are available by the glass. Book in advance to avoid disappointment, a great dinni...

"When in Nantes at the last-minute, I used my TA app on my iPhone to find something great near me. I called, and the person I spoke to couldn't have nicer, and said "come on over". I did. The restaurant was virtually empty, despite the fact that a couple of other places I called were booked solid and had no more tables available. The "acceuil" (welcome) couldn't have been nicer. The choices on offer were a fixed formula of 2 entrées, 2 mains, and 2 desserts. I was told that this was as they use only fresh products. I chose a main of cheese/pesto stuffed ravioli with a cream, tomato and cilantro sauce. It arrived quickly, but was maybe room temperature. The hope of fresh cilantro giving a "twist" to the dish, was there, but a bit in the background. I was a bit disappointed, as I couldn't identify the ravioli as being "home-made". In fact, nothing seemed to be fresh/hand chopped, like the tomatoes. I had the bread pudding for dessert, and it arrived also room temperature, was clearly "home-made" with pears, and clearly bread chunks on the top, with a swirl of chocolate for garnish. It was a bit dry, clearly not made very recently, and the inside (where the bread aspect should have been well-infused), was not throughout. The top of the "cake" had hard, dry bread chunks on it. My impression was that perhaps it was a "slow day", and they weren't putting much effort into it by serving something freshly cooked. There was only one other diner in the place. On the other hand, the serveuse could not have been nicer or more helpful. They feature an interesting international, short wine list with everything available by the glass. The dinner menu (on the blackboard on the wall), looked interesting. I think it merits trying again, if they turn on the stove and start serving food hot off the burner, as the interesting menu seasoning is attractive. Great service, but the food was mediocre this day."
