Ate here during a visit to the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel near by. A good selection of food on the menu, but at London prices. Good service and fairly comfortable. I got the impression that the food was not necessarily made on the site, but was heated up and served. Convinient for the hotel but not somewhere I'd want to make a special trip too, I'm afraid.

Visited hotel today for afternoon tea. Can honestly my expectations were not met. For a top hotel I would be expecting more than what looked like value ham in my sandwich and more than one sultana in my scone . We also had to pay extra money for using our gift at the weekend. When I questioned this the lady on reception said with a smile that it's in tiny writing in t &c . The waiting staff were very nice and made up for the food.

Total waste of money. The manager of the restaurant should be ashamed of themselves allowing food like that to be served. 4 tiny triangles each of which were dry and warm, it was a very hot day and obviously the food had not been kept chilled, the cakes/desserts were warm and runny, hence we never ate them as we didn't want to get food poisoning! This was supposed to be a treat for my 82 year old mum, totally ruined the end of our day.

As Hilton members, we received complimentary breakfasts during our vacation stay. The buffet had a vast selection of hot and cold foods. I can't say much for the powered eggs, but they were consumable if you added cheese and tomatoes (hint: go for the made-to-order omelettes). There were some gluten-free options, muffins I believe. I thought the breakfast was good, and service was attentive. After reading other reviews, perhaps they need to work on a consistent experience for patrons.

Stopping off for a drink in the Columbia Bar after a walk along the Thames, we decided we needed food as well. Chose four of the starters: Korean pork belly, haloumi sticks, calamari and the cauliflower fritters. We were really surprised at the quality as all the dishes were excellent. The staff were polite and efficient and the view of Canary Wharf is quite literally unique. The only letdown was the weather, as it wasn’t warm enough to sit outside. As we only live across the Thames we will be back when it is warmer to enjoy three courses outside.

Below mediocre! Prices way too high for the quality of the food. I had a chicken burger and my friend had the vegetarian pie. Mine was fine, albeit not very hot. My friends was burnt and dry. Called the waiter over and not one apology. No doubt in my mind that the pie was a freezer reheat job. Gross. She asked to send it back and he was fine about it. She ordered a salad for speed as the replacement.... wow how long can it take in a fairly quite restaurant at to make a replacement! Salad was fine, super spicy but more heat than taste. Reality is, if you have to eat here it won’t be a memorable meal... at least not for the right reasons!

Sat 10th August. Treat for my daughter and I.... .Very disappointing, sat outside, bit breezy but our choice. The table was wiped before the food arrived, but was sticky and still very unclean. Pimms came first..... average, then sandwiches, 4 tiny (50p sized )rolls 3 yellow 1 pink !!!, 2 ham, 2 egg mayo, 2 small smoked salmon white bread ?? 2 small square scones and jam , had to ask for cream or butter..... 2 slices fruit cake ?? Top layer. 3 ind choc mousse, 1 mini coffee eclair, 1 ind jelly thing..... how do we share these??? Waitress took plates back to kitchen and ret with 2 mousse, 2 eclairs and 2 sponge squares. I got to attend the Columbia restaurant's pirate themed afternoon tea with a large group of friends yesterday, and it was fantastic. Service is great with friendly staff and prompt service. Sandwich selection as part of the afternoon tea was a bit of an elevated standard, with the typical smoked salmon on cream cheese, tomato and cheese, cucumber this time paired with chicken, and a sausage and piccadilly relish. The scones were fresh and absolutely delicious, super buttery and creamy, very delightful. Finally there was a very thorough cake selection presented, as well as smoothies and parfaits.
