"Made a late booking for the Sunday roast spoke to the lovely Wendy the manager, over the phone she done everything she could to accommodate myself and partner. What a lovely warm welcome we got. We were welcomed like old friends. The food was amazing home cooked hot food. It felt like going to someone’s house for Christmas Day. Can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough. The service was spot on, the staff lovely and welcoming and the atmosphere was relaxed and spotlessly clean. The prices were reasonable. We enjoyed a lovely beef roast with all the trimming including extra gravy, follows by aunties homemade pavlova. I don’t normally leave reviews, but felt I had to after visiting this gem of a place. Which I found via trip advisor so thought only fair for me to also report back after my Visit. If your near or staying in Southend and don’t visit this restaurant your be sorry. "I have been a returning customer at Wild Health for the past few years and they never fail to disappoint which is why I knew I HAD to book them in for catering my spiritual and wellness retreat back in November! I honestly could not have picked a better caterer-the food was exceptional and we had so many compliments from our retreat attendees too! The food itself was full of flavour and beautifully presented and the fact that it's vegan and free from gluten made everything so much easier when it came to catering to our attendees needs. Lucy and her assistant were attentive and timely with their cooking and serving times meaning that as a retreat host, it was one less thing to worry about when hosting breakfast, lunch and dinner for x3 days for x22 people. Today we are ready to enjoy a beautiful cocktail and so, we choose aurum restaurant terrace, we had visited it before a long time so why not try again. and yes, but they serve still wonderful cocktails with a fantastic service delivered! After we had greeted, we felt very comfortable and pleasant to be there, so we decided to try the food again and yes, it is quite expensive, but it is worth having the experience. excellent selection of quality drinks; vodka. rum. coffee available. it is ideal to enjoy a great chill out afternoon cocktails on the terrace or evening in the beautiful lounge bar. or if you want to enjoy an elegant dinner in your restaurant, this pleasant time can bring. refresh the touch with comfortable sitting and softer and beautiful lightness. the waitress is professional and participates with a beautiful smile. spotless clean yes, I would like to recommend it aurum restaurant!"

"I chose 1 serving of picanha £14.95 very poor service but fries came to the table and 1 serving of Alentejo pork only 3 clams had the insides the rest were shells £14.95 I won't go back to this restaurant one of the worst restaurants I've visited in 8 years living in the UK."

"Went for a family meal party of 8 , the food was excellent and the service by Kerry was outstanding, she made sure we got the combination of food we wanted even if we changed it a bit from what was on the menu and made sure we had drinks when needed, Kerry works hard. Would recommend anyone going there for food and drinks. We will definitely be going back Thank you Oakwood Pub"
