"This was my first time visiting and it was a fantastic evening. The menu had a great selection and variety. I ordered the plaice and my friend had the sirloin, both dishes were plentiful, tasty, hot, and reasonably priced. The bistro has a charming shabby chic interior that added to the atmosphere. We even had the pleasure of speaking with the chef, and to top it off, it was BYO (bring your own alcohol). We all had a great time and will definitely be returning. Thank you."

We made a reservation through the app, but when we arrived at the restaurant, it was closed. We were left feeling hangry. The app provider should have a system in place to prevent closed restaurants from being advertised.

the first time and what a great night. the menu selection and variety was excellent. I had plaice and my friend sirloin. the food was delicious hot and cheap. the bistro has a shady chic interieur that adds to the atomic sphere. we also had the pleasure of fiancating with the chef and closing it was byo. great time that we all will have again. Thank you.

I had a great time at The Allotment! The food was delicious and the atmosphere was relaxed and laid-back. The dishes were incredibly tasty and fresh, and I think they were all homemade. The staff was fantastic - very friendly and helpful. We had a nice chat with the owner, who remained calm even though a staff member didn't show up. I can't wait to go back for another visit soon. I enjoyed my visit in the allotment that eating was delicious and the atmosphere relaxed and cooled. the food was so delicious and fresh and I think everything was made home. the staff was very friendly and helpful, we enjoyed the conversation with the owner who was remarkably quiet, although a worker did not show up. I am looking forward to my next visit, which will hopefully be in the near future.

"Absolute hidden gem in belfast. My wife and I loved the atmosphere and dinning experience. "I needed somewhere to sit down really badly. I went in here explaining all I needed was a cup of coffee until I recovered and was collected. I had two, the coffee was that great. I can not eat when I am out as the reaction is more trouble than it is worth but I look forward to having a sit in here again and leaving with something nice for home. I really think it is a pity that lovely little spots like this are bring edged out by excess bills and bureaucratic difficulties, to replaced by the bland plastic chicken merchants. But perhaps that is the plan."

"Been to this place a few times, sit and takeaway. While I cannot fault the food as it is always tasty and well presented, they do seem to be forgetful. Was in a few weeks ago, got Chicken Goujons and chips with Garlic and Sweet chilli dips to takeaway and a Caramel Rise crispy Square, brought back to the office was delicious and really enjoyed but today they lost their memory. Said to me I couldnt have gotten them there and they do not offer as takeaway. This was only 2 weeks ago so someone has got it wrong. Very disspointing that they did not seem to beleive me and even asked was I sure it was in their establishment. Not good to question a customer like that. Anyhow, did not seem to be getting though to them, all four of them. Order a toastie and a carmel rice crispy square, Toasties lovely, Carmel Rice Crispy Square was not in the bag, just a plain one. It was nice but not a s nice as the others. Lesson, do not agrue with customers, if they say they got something they got it. Pity , as the food is good. Update, still not been back, no reply from the resturant. That means they still believe their own PR. Update 20th Feb 2024, have been back recently and really cannot fault the food, sandwiches , good choices and some lovely tray bakes. Appreciate the chef reply to reviews and explaining the situation."

"Tomahawk was incredible! Undoubtedly the best steak I have ever eaten! Seating is strange ambience was definitely lacking. We ordered a side it was clearly forgotten about, we reminded staff twice we were still waiting on it, decided to start eating what we already received as we didn’t want it to go cold it arrived when we were 3/4 finished. Disappointing in that respect, as it was not busy at this time."

"Nothing special or spectacular. Service was decent staff were friendly and attentive enough. Food was average but have had better. Chicken wings were small. Breads could do with tapenade or balsamic for dipping in rather than butter (which was in the little packs; wasn’t even presented nicely). Steak was fatty. Burger was nice but dry/overdone. The actual restaurant itself is quite cool, with the bar in the middle and gives a very modern feel. What ruined it was the choice of seats we were given at the kitchen door with staff running in and out or the front door with customers loitering around waiting to be seated I understand restaurants want to squeeze people in to make more money but I’m not sure either of those spots are the place to have a table."
