Had a takeaway from The Bank House Café. Very good. The beef in a bap was excellent. Lots of meat sticking out, sauce, spinach leaves and tomato. Very satisfying. This cafe was recommended to us so we called in for a light lunch on trip along the Antrim Coast Road. Couldn’t have picked better and there was live music as it was Wednesday! Warm welcome, lovely table and great music. We shared a really tasty toastie and a fresh scone with cream and jam. Two pots of excellent tea. Reasonable prices and a refreshing break from driving.

Have been on a few occasions with my elderly father and never disappointed. Excellant friendly service and a good vegetarian selection , both of which can be hard to find. I had the most amazing pea and mint soup served with fresh bread. To my fathers delight there were many offers of a top up to the tea pots. We even had some traditional music to add to the atmosphere ! I brought home some lovely feta and spinach quiche accompanied by a large fresh chick pea salad for tea. My dad had scones accompanied by jam and fresh cream. We are well and truly fed today by The Bank !

Had lunch here. The pie of the day was chicken curry; I liked it a lot. £7, came with The Bank House Bowl, which is a generous salad portion. Someone with me had their mini pizza; they liked it. They've won all sorts of awards for their food. There’s all sorts to enjoy here. There are frequently washed plastic giraffes and other animals for kids to play with. On Friday and Wednesday afternoons you can enjoy live music. There’s a great garden area with a woven willow horse, but I dined inside because it was winter. This is another little hidden gem! My husband and I along with our dog Harper arrived to a warm welcome and were surprised to find it was not only a restaurant but had a lovely gift shop within the premises and some beautiful art work by local artist. They have an area for customers with dogs which is a great idea and in the other corner we were greeted with a few local musicians playing some traditional music in the background. The food was just delicious as were the side dips to compliment it all. My wife and I have been to The Bank House several times over the past few months and I can honestly say it never fails to impress. The food is always excellent, the staff are extremely welcoming and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. All of the ingredients to make for a great experience. There is a real sense of community in this space and a feeling that everyone who works there takes pride in what they do. I can sum it up in two words…’they care’. As an example…yesterday I ordered the pea and mint soup. I’d had it before and it was really delicious. When checking out I was asked if I enjoyed the meal. The food I had on this visit was the ploughman’s platter. Loved it. The week before I celebrated an occasion with their carrot cake. That was great, too. They’re in a 70s extension to the impressive former Northern Bank building of 1905. This is a place with a wonderful atmosphere. They had a group in singing Christmas carols in a night opening event in December 2022. I’ve heard people from Whitehead Orchestra playing here. Most weeks a band called The Bankhouse Robbers plays here on Wednesday afternoons, while traditional musicians play Friday afternoons. There’s a new resident in their gift shop area, 2020 Gifted.
