The Bay At The White Cliffs

We had a fantastic Summer BBQ party here for our 20th Wedding Anniversary! The food was outstanding and the staff could not have been more helpful! We booked the whole venue and the rooms are all really beautiful.

I recently visited with a friend for dinner. We were met with a charming and cozy restaurant with a roaring log fire perfect given the weather. The service we received was friendly and we were made to feel exceptionally welcome. The food was delicious as was the wide variety of gins and locally brewed beer available. I will certainly be returning- highly recommend!

We were a group of 12 including four children and we opted for Sunday lunch at The White Cliffs. The food was excellent, as were the service and the welcome. We all had a lovely time and the ambience is delightful. The kids enjoyed the garden (and climbing the hedge) and they loved the food too. A truly lovely place to spend time with family and I highly recommend The White Cliffs.

Rooms quite shabby, the room had a strange smell, , the bed creaks and was very uncomfortable, pillows so thin and had a musty smell I suggest you wash the pillows aswell as the pillowcases) just my opinion! The room was clean though and had nice white towels and lovely bath products to use. Breakfast disappointing but I suppose they’re limited to what you can put in a box! Sadly not up to my standards.

Stopped here early on a Saturday evening and although fully booked we could have a table until the booking arrived. Glad we did as the pizzas were amazing cooked outside to order in a proper pizza oven. There were numerous local beers and ciders but a lot were sold out by early evening. This would have been a 5* rating but there’s a 10% service charge that was even applied to the drinks we had in the garden after leaving the table! But all in all it was a very good night and would definitely go back.

This is the first time I have visited this pub , I went with a group of work colleagues/ friends for a festive dinner, We had a selection of starters main courses and sweets, I had the soup ,Very nicely presented and tasted lovely, followed by a turkey dinner with all the trimmings that to was served pipping hot and tasted lovely, followed by the cheese board, The staff were friendly and inviting , the decor is rustic and oldie worldly, with log burning stoves ,but very clean , all that at A reasonable price , I will certainly go back .

Very quiet. I 've been here before on a Sunday, and struggled to get a table. On this occasion the place was practically empty. We were offered a 'Sunday roast ' menu, but there was no option for roast veg, roast potatoes or Yorkshire pudding. I opted for Rare Roast Beef, and was allowed to substitute my boiled potatoes for chips. The roast beef was cooked beautifully, melted in the mouth. However..... No Roast Potatoes? No Yorkshires Pud? No Carrots even....... My beef came with watercress and boiled greens (and chips) This isn 't a roast dinner. The waitress explained that if I came back in 2 weeks, they would be putting roast veg back on the menu! Not sure I 'll be back....

We stopped here for Sunday roast were very happy with our decision, one of the better roasts selection I’ve seen. For meat there was a choice of beef, turkey or gammon (ham for those from the states). Included were roasted root vegetables and very good English roasted potatoes as well as Yorkshire pudding gravy. We both had roast beef which was cooked to perfection and a very generous portion. All portions were very generous, to the point where we took some home. Starter was bland and tasteless.Absolutely no flavour for smoked salmon patè at all. Toast was cremated. I 'm puzzled why the kitchen or the waitress presenting the food felt it was acceptable to serve it. Had to ask for an edible replacement when a member of staff passed by.. eventually.. as no-one asked if things were ok. It 's not like they were busy as in the hour and a half we were there no other guests were present. Main was ok. Asked for a medium glass of wine they sent and charged a large glass.
