the pub was as expected old, wooden and good beer. the television cut, most of them were in. I came to lunch and just a few others.

This lovely family-owned pub has a charming historical connection to Tolkien, and offers a selection of premium cask ales. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the food is delicious.

I suggest trying the Readsale or the Inn on the Marsh instead, as I had a more enjoyable time there.
