"We walked in and were met with such warmth friendliness from bar staff, the decor is stunning very classy and cosy. We were shown to our seats by a lovely friendly bar maid, I think her name was Mel, she told us how the Landlady who does all the cooking, cooks it all from scratch including cakes, scones etc. When the meals came out we were blown away, the portions were generous and the food was absolutely delicious. I had to go off menu for my son who is autistic and only likes certain things and wanted only bacon that day and garlic bread, the bar lady the landlady couldn't have been more helpful and were only to happy to help even though the pub was busy at that point with lots of us having food. The landlady came out after our meals she was so so lovely so friendly. She made us feel like we were regulars. I can't wait to go back for her famous afternoon teas. We've also heard about her amazing roasts, all meat sourced locally. This is a real gem folks. A beautiful pub in a beautiful location. Certainly worth the travel for all that home cooked food made with love. Highly highly recommended."

We held my fathers wake here. It was superb Becky catered for 100 people without any fuss,it was lovely something for everyone .All the staff treated us respectfully knowing what the occasion was. The pub and the gardens were spot on for us. We couldnt have found any where better. Delighted. Visualizza piatti

We met friends for a lunch here and sat outside. The lady behind the bar who also waitressed was so helpful. Our friends had had the table set inside but she happily moved things outside for us. The fish my husband had was huge and my scampi was plentiful and tasty. We were told the chef makes the batter herself. One of our friends had the lamb and said it was delicious.

We were disappointed with the usual place we meet and eat as 2 couples on a monthly basis. One of the group had heard good things about the Blue Boar so we decided to give it a try. We were certainly not disappointed the interior, staff and food were of the highest order. The staff were very friendly and attentive from start to finish. All had different meals ribs , lasagne , scampi and breakfast could not fault any part of any of the meals. Reasonably priced we will be back again when we have our monthly get together. Well done Blue Boar you were outstanding.

Myself, my partner and of course Bobby the English Bulldog went on a Sunday for a roast dinner and we weren't disappointed. I had the roast pork and my partner had the roast beef. Both meals were plentiful with the gravy served in a separate gravy boat so you could choose how much you wanted. Bobby loved the roasts as he was busily scrounging from us. We also had desserts, an apple crumble with custard and a Sundae. Again, very plentiful and enjoyable and again, Bobby was scrounging. The staff were very friendly and even gave Bobby some treats. He certainly ate well. All in all, a lovely meal and we will definitely return. Visualizza piatti

I asked the landlady Becky if she could organise a surprise party for my wife’s 80th birthday for our family and some special friends. Becky and her staff really pushed the boat out with an excellent hot buffet and a special platter of sea food (my wife’s favourite food). The food just kept on coming. The room was decorated with lots of balloons and a large banner and looked fantastic with a large centre piece 80 balloon. Becky excelled herself with what I can only call a magnificent birthday cake which looked and tasted absolutely amazing. There was even a birthday card from Becky and all the staff. The Blue Boar at Walsham le Willows could not have done more to make my wife’s birthday a ve...

AVOID Sunday lunch was terrible. We went to the blue boar with friends we had the beef and the pork. Pub was nearly empty one a Sunday lunch time. We should have recognised the warning signs at that point. The meat was not freshly cooked the beef was pale in colour that would be because it was not freshly cooked and been stored in a fridge, meat served was not hot. On to the pork, not hot two thin slices per person no crackling and dry. The apple sauce was from a jar was not even two teaspoons full in quantity. The yorkshires were cold and must have come out of the freezer or fridge. The potatoes were hard and were deep fried. The veg was fresh however the cauliflower was a reheat ! The grav...

"I love pubs! How many times do you hear that? I only properly discovered them 18 years ago because in France, although we have our cafes, they are nothing like pubs. I fairly quickly categorised them because when you think about it, they are all different. The best description for me for this one is a town pub full of character. I discovered it thanks to a friend and started going to hold a French Conservation group. I have only had drinks so far and believe me if you are after reasonable prices you have to go to the Gladstone. I have recently paid £2 in another place for a soda and lime. Here they charge you £0.30. And before you ask, no, it's not because it's served in a shot glass. When you enter the premises you will notice first the space. It has got room but you also can decide to sit in a smaller area. There is a fire place which is really nice especially at this time if the year. I went last Saturday to meet with a friend and we decided to have something to eat. If you want a night out but your are on restricted budget this is the place where to go. Ok the menu doesn't give you a massive choice as some do but in fact think about it, it won't take you too long to make your decision. The choice is good and the prices quite low. If you are vegetarian they certainly have thought about you. I am not but to be fair I've always wondered why the choices seem to be so restricted for those who are when eating out? I ended with the chilly beef and cheese. I like the fact you can choose to have it with rice or bread. The serving is good and I really enjoyed it. It was very tasty. The staffs work hard, are very pleasant and easy to interact with which is exactly what you want in a pub. It's a place with great atmosphere. And if you enjoy watching tv in a pub this is certainly the place where to go. It was a very reasonable and enjoyable night out. I'll be back!"
