"The Boat House enjoys one of the best positions on Loch Lomond and the views are second to none. The dining experience was, however extremely poor. The staff were friendly and informative but were let down by a poor and limited menu and fast food...type provision and delivery. An unimaginative menu obviously designed for ease and to maximise profit did not equate to the high price and execution. Lack of gluten free options further restricted choice. The menu on their website is more extensive and we were disappointed to view a scaled down menu on arrival. Our mains were ok, but lacked any finesse A coffee ordered with soya milk was cold and overly sweet to the extent of being undrinkable. A ‘seasonal’ fruit salad looked ok but the melon and apples weren’t ripe enough to eat and the oranges were past best! It was inedible and virtually untouched. At no time were we queried on why food wasn’t eaten or whether we we happy with our meal. The kitchen was open and it was possible to see one guy working very hard as the restaurant got busier. This was supposed to be a holiday treat and the expectations of visiting a restaurant affiliated to Cameron House were high. Previous visits to the Spa had been good."

We just visited for dinner with our month old son. After reading some of these reviews we were little apprehensive however the service was brilliant and the food was amazing! Definitely recommend.

What has happened to The Boathouse Menu? Very limited choice of dishes reduced even further as pizza oven broken, again! Does it ever work ? Not what you would expect from a restaurant associated with a Star Hotel. Toilets obviously not being checked by...staff as Ladies could have done with a tidy and cubicle lock was broken! Staff very helpful and pleasant. Location stunning .

Ate here twice and love it. The atmosphere, service, food and decor are all excellent. The log fire in the lounge was most welcome on a chilly night. The chowder is soo tasty. Only negative was seating all guests in one area when there is...plenty of space. We found this in both restaurants at the resort. It’s not very pleasant being seated next to a group of in the middle of a pandemic, especially when they are loud as it impacts other guests experience.

Terrible food, pre formed burger looked and tasted heavily processed for I felt very much ripped off. Burgers are not hard or expensive to cook. If I’d wanted processed food I’d have gone to McDonald’s not the restaurant attached to a star hotel....Soup was not good either. Nothing tasted fresh I even watched them roll out pizza dough with a rolling pin, that alone would make an Italians head spin! Very disappointed, won’t be back The service was good though, I can’t fault the waiting staff. Visualizza piatti

Location and friendliness of staff is not in question but what has happened to the menu? Really limited selections and crazy pricing. I had a great visit in the summer the food was excellent. Top quality seafood platter starter lobster frites. Great value...for money. Not so much to applaud today. Our food was dreadful, bland tasteless (truffle Mac n cheese) the pizza was totally undercooked. French fries saved the day. Sticky toffee pudding was inedible. Hefty bill. Very disappointing indeed.

We had dinner here recently while staying nearby. We have eaten here before while staying at Cameron House and always enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Sadly, this wasn’t one of our best visits. It was very quiet. This meant that our food was rapidly...served to us with barely a pause between courses. Our pre starter, haggis Bon Bon’s, arrived at the same time as our starter. The food was very good as usual. We did ask for a bit of time before dessert which helped. I couldn’t believe the very limited choice in alcohol beers on offer with me ending up with a Becks Blue that I hadn’t ordered. In this day and age I would expect a better range to be offered. We didn’t dwell after coffee.

I booked The Boat House at Cameron House (we’ve been times before). Paid a ticket. And very disappointed this year. No tablecloths in the restaurant and food was warm. No atmosphere and staff looked like they were being held to ransom. After dinner...it just got worse. ceilidh band just played well Ceilidh tunes. And as we couldn’t dance, what was the point?? Staff cleared the tables of decorations at And pretty much ushered away. Fireworks were of them. Yes, fireworks. Everyone left before and this was the worst New Year celebration ever. Yes, I know there was COVID to cope with, but there are better ways to deal with it. I doubt this hotel are proud of this event. A real shame. Photo taken... Visualizza piatti

Enjoyed a wonderful meal which was a family celebration for a birthday. A lovely atmosphere and the staff were very attentive and accommodating. We had a drink in the very comfortable bar area first and the remaining drinks were carried through to our table...by waiting staff. A brilliant choice of food to suit all our guests.... A party of when my brother requested a little haggis with his burger he was told it wasn't a problem. The portion sizes were very good, food was very fresh and tasty and the prices were very reasonable. Our birthday boy received a surprise birthday plate with chocolate brownie pieces, cream and piped chocolate which he really appreciated. A wonderful experience and...

Before we arrived we checked out the menu but unfortunately it was a previous menu, after we were seated we were immediately asked if we wanted to order drinks but we didn't get a menu at this point. We ordered a French it appears...that the bartender put in the liquor and lemon before the prosecco and not otherway around wich would make the drink basically mix itself, because the prosecco is lighter than the liquor. I had to stir my drink. The garnish was a half lemon wheel which is just too big. I would rather see a lemon twist on the rim. We had lunch a bit later than usual but it seemed like it was a bit overstaffed. Later on someone came to the bar to ask for a whiskey recommendation. T...

"live before place and always used to go. was impressed twice recently and both males less than by service. the first time with two friends to lunch and we came and stood under the sign for about 10 minutes, which said to wait to sit. After we were not recognized, we chose our own table and set ourselves. we had to approach 15 minutes, we were just going. as usual, eating was great, which always seems easy to make for the service and convince us to give them another try. in the next week with another group of friends returned to dinner, I said to them, I wasn't thinking about as service was recently bad, but we couldn't get a reservation elsewhere and the others wanted to go here. When I arrived a few minutes after the rest, my friend said to me, she thinks they should have listened to me when the girl she was sitting was really rude. for the first half of our night was the girl that was with us, quite short, and I would say a bit of a bad attitude, very crisp. once smiled, barely looked up and almost bark asking about orders to us. After they left at a point table, we talked to each other, we should ask to speak to a manager, as you were terrible. whether she had overheard us or just had a heart change, it was like at night and day from then. so smiling and chatting and bending back to give good service. because they mask up and his hard to see faces I was really asking it was another girl who had taken over, but I'm 99 sure it was the same girl just a fresh job. as mentioned above, eating is always done very well to the kitchen staff. it's a shame that the service is just what he was earlier and out discussions with others I am definitiw not the only person who thinks that. lorimers has a real opportunity, as I think that the opposite has no good restaurants, so it's a shame that they let themselves down when I'm so often I would try differently before I book here."
