"The beer at this restaurant is good and well-maintained. The food choices are limited, with only one vegetarian option available. The side vegetables are tasty, but the vegetarian dish itself is bland. The roast meat dishes are decent and the portions are generous. The service is lacking, with lukewarm coffees being served and mistakes made with orders. There is only one choice of coffee and limited tea options. Unfortunately, the real fire was not lit on a cold, wet day. The background music is old pop, but thankfully not too loud. This pub has declined in quality, as evidenced by the ease of booking a Sunday lunch table and numerous empty tables."

They can’t seem to cope if it’s too busy, lasagne was dry, burger buns were rock hard. I mean it’s clean the staff are friendly but the food not good would not return nor recommend

We popped in for lunch on the off chance on the way home from Salisbury. This is a good, old fashioned pub, with decent pub grub. £10 for a huge plate of ham, egg and chips, you can't go wrong.

Stopped in for lunch as this pub is just off the A 303. Very reasonably priced menu. Delicious thick cut ham egg and chips. Partners burger was also delicious. Friendly service highly recommended

I received a warm welcome at the top-rated restaurant in the Black Forest, Germany. The lamb dish I ordered was delicious and cooked to perfection. The service was also very pleasant. I will definitely be returning. Thank you, Conny.

This quaint pub is a hidden treasure with a lovely outdoor garden and a welcoming fireplace that is consistently well-maintained. Unfortunately, there can be a lack of sufficient staff during peak hours. The regulars are kind and accommodating, but it appears that the dedicated staff may be struggling to keep up with the demands.

Walked to The Boot Inn in Berwick St James from the Stonehenge campsite for an evening meal. We had faggots and the pork loin chop in cider and both were hot and very tasty. They came with vegetables including red cabbage, and were perfect for a cold November evening meal. Puddings were cheesecake (great) and sticky date and finger pudding and custard (delicious). We were given a warm welcome and really enjoyed the whole experience.

I recently ate at this restaurant. The dishes were served cold, which made the food cool down fast and ruined the experience. The food was just okay and the prices were reasonable. Even though there weren't many other customers, we were still required to order drinks at the bar, which was right next to us, and it ended up being added to our bill anyways. It felt a bit like a scene from Fawlty Towers, to be honest. I wouldn't choose to eat here again.

What a Disaster! The website for this pub refers to the previous owners/management and, apparently, cannot be changed. The welcome, service and kitchen are, at best, adequate. One staff member to welcome customers, run the bar and provide table service says it all she did her best. The coffee machine is broken and there is no “instant”. As to the kitchen, if your priority is quantity rather than quality, this is your go to place. The word in the village is that the change has not been for the better.

"We stayed here ten years ago and thought it was wonderful and worth every penny. We were so excited to return, but really Disapointed. The grounds are lovely and we were pleased with our room. The children loved the outdoor space and the pool What really let us down was the food and service. There was no luxury here. The family dining choices were poor. The children's meal was bad one had fish gougons and sweet potato fries which were very salty. The other two had pizza, the small was served as half a pizza, the large was a conventional round shape. Both were shop bought bases (cardboard) with grated Cheddar on the top. Something I would not feed them at home let alone expect in a supposedly high end dining. My husband's steak was chewy. My main, whole plaice with creamed potatoes, the potato was served in a ceramic dish and it was cold. It was taken away and then took ten minutes to return by which point I had eaten the fish. The food was incredibly expensive considering how poor the offerings were. The next day we ate a very late lunch in Bath so we would not have to eat at the hotel. The breakfast buffet area had some nice items but was really understocked and allowed to run to empty. The staff functioned but not at a steady rate, we found the service slow and the staff disinterested. Such a contrast to our previous visit. The person in charge we found sullen and felt as if our presence was an inconvenience. When we walked through to the dining areas we would hop out of the staff'so way for fear of being bulldozed. When we left the receptionist was polite but did not ask if we enjoyed our stay. A week later I had an email to complete a survey and nobody got in touch despite the same feedback as given here. Very dispointing. Lovely room and surroundings but poor food and poor attitude from staff. Last year we stayed in a hotel that cost 65% less than Wooley Grange and had a much better experience."

"We had a tremendously good lunch here today-the food was quite delicious, the staff were very friendly and helpful-I’d say it’s probably one of the best lunches I’ve had in quite some time….so to give you a clue we both had the pork-this sounded really lovely and we were not disappointed-pork belly, tenderloin,a faggot and a ham hock croquet with mashed potato and roasted cauliflower with a delicious jus and a slice of pickled apple( which I ate immediately with a piece of pork and when the waiter came to ask how our lunch was I asked if he could possibly get me another piece-which he did For dessert we shared the passion fruit crème brûlée which came with a passion fruit sorbet and some chocolate soil…..the focaccia we had at the start of the meal was superb and the coffee was also excellent -we do enjoy both cooking and eating-one of life’s pleasures and it’s abundantly clear the chef absolutely loves food too-a great display of cooking books from the greats sort of got me thinking it would be a good lunch…….also worth noting the drinks menu-some lovely wines, soft drinks and cocktails both alcoholic and non alcoholic. I finished off with a mocha which was hot chocolatey but not too sweet. Bradford on Avon is most definitely worth a visit and I’d say you would be foolish to miss out on a great experience if you didn’t also pop in to the bunch of grapes for some sustenance while there… Thanks for lunch and as Arnie says “ we’ll be back”….."
