"We managed to get 3 nights at short notice at The Bull and we're so glad we did. It's perfectly located in the cente of Ludlow with car parking a 5 minute walk away from as little as £2.40 per day (bargain). Rob met us on arrival and showed us to our room which was exactly what we had expected. Breakfast was included in our room rate and we weren't disappointed, a hearty english breakfast perfectly served, or a smaller plate if required, plenty of options for cereals, juice toast and an endless supply of tea coffee!! A lovely beer garden with plenty of seating suitable for all ages with a stairway up to the church and a 2 minute walk into the main shopping centre, lots to see on those little steets"

Had a lovely room; cosy and very quiet. Breakfast was large and well cooked. The housekeeper was friendly. Recommended .

Loved the Banks beer, if you want to visit a traditional friendly pub in Ludlow and there are quite a few you can’t go wrong in the Bull.

Visited here for drinks. Nice pub with a good atmosphere and historic. Staff where polite and friendly and drinks competively priced. Worth a visit.

Don’t book, this place has closed down. The booking agent will take your booking and money. They won’t tell you the hotel has closed, and will even let you confirm your stay. But when you arrive, you will have no room. BEWARE!!!!

Our hotel had nor atmosphere and we found the Bull to have atmosphere in bucket loads. They had almost run out of beer however we enjoyed bottled cider, the jukebox and the warm wood fire with comfortable seats. Staff were very friendly characters and we were quickly served. The place is certainly rough around the edges however it is clearly popular with a wide range of customers. They weren't serving food however you were welcome to bring in your own.

Firstly there's no parking but you can park around the corner for peanuts so it's not really much of a problem. Check in was easy, the excellent barman simply let me in and I was straight in my room. The room itself was comfortable but the bathroom was a bit tired. However I slept fine though I had to leave before breakfast was served. Special mention to the superb barman who couldn't have been anymore helpful, and even introduced me to the delights of lemon gin with Coke.

Brilliant stay. We stayed here a few years ago and the place was very tired. What a transformation the new team has completed. Pub very friendly and a nice welcome Refurbished rooms to a good standard and very comfortable king size bed with great bed linen and towels. It’s obvious a lot of thought, effort and time has been put in and deserves praise. Breakfast was a bit of a wait but completely freshly cooked by the owner and it was delicious. We will definitely stay again. Thank you the Team

DO NOT STAY HERE IT IS A SCAM. See the previous post about the hotel being closed. I read the post too late. Got to the hotel to be told the manager had absconded. The bar staff were rude and a appeared to not give a toss about the situation. They found it quite funny. It appears this has been happening a lot. Booked using PayPal so will get money back. As per the previous post the website is still taking bookings, deposits and we even got a confirmation 2 days before we arrived. Landline and mobile disconnected

Stayed here for 2 nights would have booked out after 1 night except for good breakfast. room was disappointing and bathroom was worse. Window broken and held together with string.desk propped up with beer mats. Bathroom smelt highly of drains shower was old and only trickled out. Holes in tiles left from previous fittings. Fittings on walls were stained and old. Paintwork had been undercoated only and old paint showing through.floor was grubby as was bath. Yuk did not want to use bathroom at all would not recommend this hotel

"Beautifull hotel, I guess one can call it trendy , but I just don 't understand how they can justify the price £130/night and that most of the time will go to £160 as they run out of entry level ones. So I guess the answer is there because people pay for it! But let 's just make some relevant comparisons Birmingham Grand literally in the heart of the city, brand new, 5* hotel, with all recently decorated rooms to the highest standard is £135 15 for breakfast. Needless to say rooms are air conditioned, fully equipped and genuinelly very posh. Hotel has lifts, has porters and the service is top notch. The Lion is barelly 4* just for trendiness alone, but the actual quality of furnishing is closer to 3*, has no lift and you will be lugging your bags up and down mutiple flights of stairs (and I mean multiple like 8 going up and down) trought narrow corridors to mediocre room (nothing wrong with it just mediocre) which isn 't even air conditioned. Sorry, I just don 't get it. That said restaurant is good fully fine dining if you are into it. Althought in my oppinion it doesn 't fit into the rest of the hotel. So it is ~3.5* hotel which is very youghtfull and trendy and then you get 5* fine dining with very tiny portions for the dinner (which is not criticism of restaurant, it is very good on it 's own). In conclussion I just don 't get what niche this hotel is filling, who stays there and why. The price for the rooms should be £75 95 tops. Shreesbury is not exactly prime tourists destination either (at least shouldn 't). But it seems it is working out for them, I just would not recommend it, I would not stay in it again and it is definatelly not worth the price. Neither in isolation, nor in comparison."
