The Bull Inn - Menu

We were fortunate to call ahead because we were informed that the kitchen closed at 6:45pm. The menu was not very impressive and was quite average, but it got the job done. The staff was very friendly.

the workers in the bull were very friendly and welcoming. our evening meal was plentiful and the house made steak and ale cake contained large pieces meat and was cut by a larger cake. not served in a dog dish. the room was small, but immaculate and warm. well worth a return visit

A garden that could not be matched. Great beer, attentive service. Only thing that let it down was the hot beef sandwich which was tough gristly meat. Fries and gravy were both good though. Don't want to dwell too long on the food as the whole experience left me with fond .memories

had a fabulous Sunday dinner. roast beef and steak and ale cake. do not taste over or under cooked and good choice. my word was great. the whole experience was beautiful. friendly friendly staff. beautiful building. clean and tidy. will definitely be back, maybe thinking about christmas!?

Excellent food and friendly service. Enjoyed three meals: 1. Friday fish and chips; 2. Saturday Afternoon sandwich (ham and mustard very generous, with good side salad that's all we needed for the rest of the day!; 3. Sunday roast (beef, Yorkshire pudding etc. . Absolutely worth visiting.

excellent! great home cooked food that will satisfy everyone. Today some of the bratbeef had, but I had the steak and ale cake. what a tasty bite, a paste full of steak and whispers from gravy! would definitely go back and recommend to everyone. on a warmer day you can sit at the river in the fabulous garden

This riverside beer garden is lovely. The staff and landlady are excellent, very friendly and helpful. I have visited several times on nice sunny days. The steaks are always excellent, but this time slightly over salted. The issue was acknowledged by the landlady. I believe that the amount of salt/pepper should be left up to the customer. The pint of OP was excellent. I will definitely be returning.

We had a great experience during our three-night stay at The Bull Inn starting from the 22nd of the month. The staff was excellent and we enjoyed the delicious breakfasts. The bar had a nice atmosphere with the locals. Our small double room was charming, the bed was comfortable, and the creaking floorboards added to the overall ambiance of the Inn. We would definitely come back if we were in the area. Thanks to Graham and the rest of the staff for a wonderful stay. Additionally, there is a convenient car park area located right across from the Inn for visitors.

We called here during a staycation in West Tanfield. The Staff were all lovely, very friendly and helpful. The setting was great too, with a local feel to it and good music in the background. There's quite a few choices on the menu but it's quite expensive for bar meals. Some of us had quiche one night and although it tasted ok it was a tiny slice of quiche for just under £14. Served with what tasted like oven chips, and salad garnish and coleslaw which were nice. I had a cheese and chutney sandwich another night and it was very nice , but again expensive at just under £9.
