"Someone who stays over at the Clive Arms every Christmas and loves it, recommended it to me and knowing I was going to be in the area, I booked myself in for a Sunday lunch treat which was absolutely delicious. I chose the pork roast from the Sunday Set Menu (2 courses £25 or 3 courses £30) and wasn't disappointed. There are plenty of other options available. Fresh, quality produce roast pots, roasted swede, braised carrot, seasonal greens, separate sml dish of cauliflower cheese, yorkshire pud and gravy. For dessert I had Walled garden damson apple crumble with custard (GF), also delicious. Ice cream option also available. Looked to me like it's had a recent refurbishment which has been done to a high standard and is very tasteful. Liked this place very much and will definitely go back"

I had an excellent meal at this restaurant. The food was fantastic, the service was outstanding, and it offered great value for the price. Overall, I would rate the service and location both a solid 5 out of 5.

Strange hotel. No food available on the first night of our stay. I had to drive into Ludlow to eat. Managed to book a table for our second night. After a argument over the time it was available. Rooms: 4 Service: 3 Location: 3 Hotel highlights: Quiet Visualizza piatti

We visited The Clive Arms in September for my brother’s stag do and really enjoyed the experience. We dined in the Plassey room, which was the perfect size for our group of 10 and had a nice, warm atmosphere. It was great to have our own space as we didn’t have to worry about imposing on the other guests, which can often be an issue with larger groups. The staff were friendly and accommodating, the food was delicious, and being able to pre-order made things very easy on the night of our visit. Would definitely recommend to all, and will happily visit again in the future!

We had a wonderful experience at this charming establishment. The room was immaculate and equipped with everything we needed for our short stay. The bar and lounge areas were cozy and relaxing. The café next door served a delightful breakfast. However, one downside for us was the dinner menu. If you don't eat meat or fish, there's only one option available: a vegetarian chili. Unfortunately, we’re not fans of chili, so we had to venture into town, where we ended up getting chips and curry sauce. If the Clive added more vegetarian options to their menu, it would be flawless. For those who enjoy meat, though, we suspect they would have no complaints at all.

"My partner and I often visit Ludlow and like to discover new coffee and lunch venues. We were a little hesitant when finding this lovely looking cafe/ bistro was empty, whilst elsewhere coffee shops seemed quite busy. The interior was inviting and the waitress friendly so we decided to try it out. As a first impression, I think the extractors in the kitchen could benefit from an overhaul , as the smell of stale fat was noticeably in the air. Also, as is a trend in coffee shops recently, the place was a little chilly. Hot chocolate and coffee was ordered to sort that! These came quickly and were ok. My partner ordered a bacon sandwich (crispy bacon please! and a tea cake for me. The latter was unavailable so a scone was second choice. Sadly on arrival the bacon was definately not crispy and had gelatinous fat and rind. The bread was thick white sliced toasting bread (supermarket cheap and not fresh. My scone came with cream and jam but the scone was like a brick. Definitely not today 's or yesterday 's even. On paying my partner was asked if everything was OK with our food. He politely replied about the scone being stale and the response was simply Oh. And that was that. On leaving the smell of stale fat was in our clothes .... I think that the poor ratings on here are more recent and the average 4 star rating has been bolstered by better reviews earned historically. I do hope this isn 't a downward trend for this little business and things can be pulled back."
