"Someone who stays over at the Clive Arms every Christmas and loves it, recommended it to me and knowing I was going to be in the area, I booked myself in for a Sunday lunch treat which was absolutely delicious. I chose the pork roast from the Sunday Set Menu (2 courses £25 or 3 courses £30) and wasn't disappointed. There are plenty of other options available. Fresh, quality produce roast pots, roasted swede, braised carrot, seasonal greens, separate sml dish of cauliflower cheese, yorkshire pud and gravy. For dessert I had Walled garden damson apple crumble with custard (GF), also delicious. Ice cream option also available. Looked to me like it's had a recent refurbishment which has been done to a high standard and is very tasteful. Liked this place very much and will definitely go back"

"smooth jazz from the ludlow jazz collective. more general starter of crabs and austerity whipped with the dark crab into a sose. nice. bark meat was delicious. pretty fat, but that makes it so succulent, and there was a lot of meat. no place for pud, but the bavarois and the affogato both looked beautiful. the personal was also nice. will go again to visit the amazing burg, go the beautiful landscape and finish it with dinner and more jazz."

"During our first visit to lunch (14/2/2023) I couldn't find a mistake at the service or at lunch. The wine selection was good and the food (steak for main and smoked trout rillette for entree) was excellent so delicious and well presented. The waiting staff was also attentive. During our second visit to lunch (we would like to come back so much) I was very disappointed. I ordered the chicken with potato daphinoise (or similar). The chicken itself was good, but the main reason I ordered this item was actually for the potato accompaniment. What I received was a half of a roast potato and a plate full of mist cauliflowers. Very disappointing. This disappointment was also aggravated by the fact that none of the waiting staff were looking for how we enjoy the meal and if everything was satisfactory or not. The disappointment was even worse, as our expectations for a repetition experience of the first time we have been denounced here were very high. The main reason for my bad review is that the article I received does not match the description of the article on the menu and no waiting personnel checked with us to see if we were satisfied with the meal."

"Ate here Wednesday with friends for a university reunion. Food was very good and small but interesting wine list. Excellent service. Place is very small and in centre of town. You need to book and that really means ringing. We were asked to preorder food, but that not a problem. Most of the dishes were served on clay pots, on a plate with serviette. It made them quite difficult to eat. Several of us had cassoulet very generous but you had to take meat out of the pot to cut it up. That meant removing the serviettes from under a very hot dish tricky! Note there is no service charge on the bill but they ask for tips in cash. Vegetarian options: Don't think there were any it's french. Kid friendliness: Not really suitable"

"My wife and I were holidaying in Shropshire and decided to visit the Sunday Collectors' and Flea Market in Ludlow. Having found a couple of bargains we visited the Museum, well worth a visit, to be advised by the very helpful lady of establishments to eat. This wasn't one of her recommendations, however, after perusing some of the others on her list, we came across Bakers of Ludlow, just 100 yards from the Market Square, and, at first glance, more a café than a restaurant or boulevard eatery! This was actually what we were looking for! On entering our expectations were not disappointed, as the extremely friendly staff promptly took our order and delivered an excellent pot of tea each as we awaited our meal of fish, chips and peas. When our meal arrived the café transformed into a five star restaurant! I'd mentioned to my wife that I forgot to ask for lightly battered fish. I needn't have worried, there was no batter in sight! Quality and presentation were top quality. I'm only sorry that we found this place on the last day of our holiday. If you're in Ludlow I would highly recommend a visit, and I haven't even mentioned the price! I, for one, love a bargain! I didn't find many at the Collector's Market but made up for it in spades at Bakers!"
