Had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant while staying at the hotel. Couldn't fault it. Service was efficient and friendly, food was well cooked and tasty.

I had the daily breakfast which included a variety of cooked dishes, cereals, fruits, meats, cheeses, as well as tea, coffee, and juices. I also dined in the bar and found the food to be very good and reasonably priced.

While not the most affordable option, I must admit I was concerned after reading some reviews. However, the steak was very enjoyable and far superior to the food at Ego. We would have no hesitation in returning in the future.

I haven't eaten at this restaurant in over a year. I was disappointed with the food this time. I ordered a medium-cooked steak but it came out overdone. There was no peppercorn sauce. The mac and cheese was not what I expected - it was more like pasta with melted cheese on top. I won't be coming back and I don't recommend wasting your money here.

Nice enough place to eat. Smallish portions but enough for me. Had steaks. Very nice. The negatives? Automatic service charge on bill so I asked for another bill without. I prefer to choose. And when we did pay, we were stopped by the desk to check we werent scooting off without paying! Bacon at self service breakfast had long black hair around it. Having said all that, I would be tempted to try again as its a nice hotel.

Here for a Black Tie event and it's dreadful. Poor service and the food was shocking. I had pork which was stone cold and I sent it back. Those that had chicken said it was tough. My pork was stuck in the microwave and returned. It was inedible. The staff weren't interested, didn't seem to be well trained and certainly not able to cope with problems. As for the Chef, he should be ashamed sending out food like that. If I was the owner I would be looking for a new Chef. My advice Stay away. Probably the worst meal I've had.

Not impressed food cold at dinner and in the morning . When we complained we were advised to get in earlier . We did the next day it was still cold Asked for the surcharge to be taken off and shunted between restaurant manager and reception still could not get it removed. Not impressed with room which should have been an executive . Couldn’t open the safe .plugs not working in bath room sink . Room cleaning left a lot to be desired. Staff needed training . Ordered a taxi it never came ..reception forgot to order .no heating in the room ....provided with a portable heater. Kings size bed was two singles put together .

We came for a family dinner as we were staying in the hotel. Drinks took a long time to come. The food took forever! We waited about 50/60 minutes. The kids were starving. Burgers were black and burnt to a crisp as were the buns, a long piece of thread was found in my husband’s burger. They were inedible. We complained and waited for more burgers to come which took so long we gave up and said not to bother. We didn’t want to eat anything after seeing the state of the food. Chips were ok. Waiting staff were pleasant and apologetic. They removed the food from the bill. I would never eat here again the chef should not be in this job.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn which is definitely worthy of 4* for the current price . Their restaurant does not match. As Cow on the Hill one would expect a reasonable choice of steaks even allowing for COVID and recent opening. However , the inaccessible app menu was read by a waiter who ran through standaub type starters , mains of burgers etc and just one steak a sirloin. We ordered a medium and medium rare. What arrived was the plus side of medium and a very well done . My wife ate the medium but I sent the other back and it took 25 minutes to deliver another steak this time cooked m/r. That should take 10 mins max. 3 mins each side and a few minutes rest. I expect far better for a £21 8...
