"Sooo hot, asked for heating technician to sort the radiator... still way too hot several hours later, in a cold and windy September. Later, it took 15 mins to get into the place at 10.45pm, eventually being let in by a mate at bar. When in, told abruptly, 'you have a door key ' (we didnt, as was proven- a room key yeah, back door no, and no mention of it on check-in). So, room key is pretty irrelevant w/o access to the building! Finally, on entry, told last orders was at 11, at 11.02m despite we 'd been knocking on the doors and windows of the bar for over 10 mins. She was not for turning, rules are rules of course!!!!. Customer service non existent. Not unique. Don 't stay here, over service."

The restaurant staff are very welcoming and the food is superb so good we came back the following night. Worth every penny.

Lovely bar with great food, always has at least 2 Purple Moose Brewery real ales on tap. Warm atmosphere and friendly staff. Accommodation is reasonable on site too!

A very pleasant stay. The staff, especially at the reception, were always approachable and very helpful and friendly thank you again for that! The food is good, the bar is very well stocked (including a wonderful gin menu! , and there is also a covered parking space. Again any time. Also from the large party of 12 on Monday. We had already walked into a pub just around the corner, only to be greeted with looks of youre not a local . It was all a little bit League of Gentleman . Further up the road we found the royal sportsman. The lady working the bar/waiting on and doing everything else made us feel very welcome. Considering the age of the building it 's all very clean and well laid out. Given the use of the lounge as we had many children was a a bonus for us, and the other diners. Food was fantastic. Best fish and chips I 've had. A very welcoming place and will be sure to return.
