"we had a nice visit to this facility and after their own rental, sarah and their daughter emily well selected. a family-run pub with family-oriented feeling and dog-friendly! the ferry is definitiw my favorite place in brough. the food was generously cut and their homemade chips are what their dishes are so delicious and fill. if they are in the opposite or have just descended from the train, they will not be disappointed."

Without a doubt, one of the best pubs in Brough. Sarah and the team of staff are fantastic and always go the extra mile to accommodate customers. Fantastic service and a great pint of beer. Highly recommended .

Absolutely brilliant pub. They have the most amazing Stella and is very reasonably priced, their lager is cheapest in the area! The staff are so polite and helpful, whether your enjoying a pint or coming in for a meal with the family, The Ferry is the place to be!

Just a short walk from Brough railway station. Use it to have a drink before being picked up normally after returning from watching right at Wigan. Had food in there which is chain pub style. Decent enough at decent prices. Pleasant pub with equally pleasant staff.

fantastic village pub. menu is brilliant -something for all and cheap. service is fast, eating is hot, tasty and portion size is more than sufficient. the personal is beautiful and nothing is too much annoyed. the pub also makes many events for children/adults that are amazing, and supports local well-being.

tried the new menu and had the cowboy burger who arrived in time and was hot and tasty. service provided by emily, which offered all reasonable considerations and cared for me. space was clean and tidy and relaxing atmosphere. some good events advertised and...Function room on floor level is a bonus for this location.

"Visited today with my wife and month old daughter whilst we are on holiday in the area. We didn’t have a booking but this wasn’t a problem, the staff were friendly throughout and accommodating about lack of booking. We asked for a children’s menu...(website says they have one) but we were advised it’s was the basket meals menu which they advertise as selling to guests sat outside, they did also mention they could make a smaller portion of something from the adult menu. The basket meals menu is mainly fried food and chips, the kind you might share with friends over drinks, I wouldn’t call it a children’s menu. To me a children’s meal should at least come with some option of veg/salad/beans and ideally not be fried, plus the chips that arrived with her chicken bites were salted, not great for little ones. We didn’t make a fuss as for one meal as a treat we weren’t unduly worried but it would put me off going back with children. They also charged the full basket meal price so no reduction for children. Our meals, fried garlic mushrooms, salt and pepper chicken goujons to start then a beef burger and chicken burger as mains, arrived promptly and were generous portions. The food was fine, nothing spectacular just average pub food. The main issue on our visit and the thing that made the whole meal much more stressful and unenjoyable was the flies, we were sat in what they called the restaurant area and our whole meal start to finish was disrupted by or flies continuously buzzing round us, trying to land on our food and land on us, not fun. I accept that or flies can be around when doors or windows are open and it’s hard to stop them coming when food is around but or round us and more to be seen in the room seems too many to me, it really put us off especially when they were landing on our daughter. At the point of eating the meal we didn’t raise the issue as we couldn’t see that anything could be done about it and I’m sure the staff are not a fan of the flies either. I did raise the issue whilst paying and was told they knew about the problem and were doing their best to solve it, sadly for us it would stop me wanting to go again. All in all not a great experience and the food whilst nice enough wasn’t good enough to overcome the issue of the flies and the lack of a proper children’s menu."
