The pub was well appointed. The staff were very friendly and efficient, especially Sharon. The food was well presented and of a very high quality. A great experience all round.

Had a great night with friends enjoying the live singer on Saturday night, he was superb accommodating our requests. Fabulous night with live music, looking forward to next week's musicians. Great pub with a great selection of drinks and friendly staff.

We got to the pub quite late for lunch so it was around 3pm. The pub was quiet. I chose the Turkey pie. My wife had it too as the pub didn't have the lamb that was on the menu. Came here for Christmas lunch, and the staff were so lovely and attentive, the lady who served us, Sharon G, was absolutely wonderful and so understanding of my soya allergy, she brought the allergen guide for main and dessert separately which was lovely. The food and drinks were divine, really lovely afternoon.

Rang up this morning to book a table for 3pm, was told no bookings walk ins only til 5pm. Arrived at 3pm and was told bookings only, and is fully booked. Explained we tried to book a table earlier and spoke to a woman on the phone, the man we spoke to said she must have been mistaken. Bit of an attitude and no apology whatsoever. Won’t be coming back I’m afraid

The Fox one Of two near Hopwas is within walking distance. I have always received a brilliant welcome and am relaxed in this spacious and well appointed venue. I mainly pop in on a Friday to meet my friends, who include staff and ex staff who still hang out and my regular guys, won’t be tempted by anyone else to go anywhere else. The food is sound. The garden when the climate is warm, is huge, with decent heated cover area. I have never had a cross word with any of the charming clientele, it’s an easy going place, and always have a great evening A safe bet, and an equally safe pair of hands The Fox is a well known, well run business. I have dined at the Fox many times over the years but was very disappointed with recent meal and won’t be going again unless things change. I ordered a burger with chips. I asked not to have the bread roll. When the meal arrived, it was the tiniest meal, like a child’s portion. I spoke to the waitress about this. She may have been the manager, not sure, but she was extremely brisk in her attitude and told me about portion control and how they would go out of business if they had given me a few extra chips as I hadn’t had a bread roll. I told her I felt it was like a child’s portion and not at all worth the £15 charged. I asked for some more chips and was charged £3.50 for these. I never norm...

Having eaten here previously, we were looking forward to lovely food and a catch-up with friends. We had mains and dessert, which were lovely, then it all went downhill! We asked our waitress for more drinks. Instead, we were served with the bill! Not quite what we asked for! When we queried this with another waitress, we were told oh I thought this is what you asked for? We were then told that they needed the table for a booking of 10, and we needed to leave the table. We had only been in there for an hour and a half! We were offered another table to sit at, but we could only have that for a further 30 mins! Our children took us here to celebrate my wife's upcoming birthday. We ordered our food, and at the same time we told the member of staff that was taking our order that we had a voucher via email for free dessert for all within the group. When asking to pay the bill, we was asked to show the email with the free dessert, my wife who had the voucher via email was asked by the waitress if she could take her phone and show this to a Member of staff, not sure if she was a manager, but she was not the most happiest person in the pub, she even came over and asked my wife if she could forward the email to an address so they could look into this, as they were not aware of this, yes they onourd the of...
