"The gluten free afternoon tea appeared to be vegan. I had to request clotted cream rather than coconut cream for the scones. The bread was a little dry and there was no pastries. A friend's tea included macarons which could have been included in the tea, although they were very sweet. The scones were good but when we ran out of milk for tea we were charged for the additional jug. Atmosphere was good and decor, service was average. We had to ask multiple times for a box to take away some left over food."

1st time in Royal Tunbridge Wells but what a treat!! Food fab, sat outside which was lovely. Staff really pleasant and attentive. Will be back!!

As a couple with a booking we were allocated 90 minutes for our meal. Given it was 15 minutes before our order was taken and a delay with the coffee arriving at the end, we felt rushed and were asked to vacate our table as soon as our 90 minutes was up. We did not even have time for a dessert! Not impressed. The noise level is extreme, you have to shout at each other to have any kind of conversation. The food was amazing though.

Our family were delighted by the excellent food and warm welcome by all the staff in the Tunbridge Wells Ivy. What sets The Ivy apart are the food preparations which you just can 't cook at home. The clouds of vanilla icecream, the exotic cocktails and touches inspired by Heston Blumenthal. These add extra twists to traditional english dishes, like you 've never had them before. Thanks go to all the staff and chefs for a great finalé to my wife 's favourite-ever birthday.

This was the second time I had eaten here, but the first time on a Saturday afternoon: it was extremely busy. The staff are great, really friendly and helpful without being intrusive and the decor is lovely. My starter (crispy duck salad) was really delicious. Main (pan fried salmon) was nice but not super exciting. I shared my pudding (chocolate bomb) with my partner and it was good. Overall, I would go back but would probably avoid weekend went on a weekday afternoon before and that was great.
