"Amazing location and the lunch menu is excellent value We had a delicious lunch, there are just three choices for each course so I thought my choices were brave as on paper they sounded incredibly rich pork belly and truffle croquettes with a leek dressing followed by confit chicken leg and prawn paella with a red pepper and shellfish sauce but not at all both dishes were beautifully presented and were packed with flavour. My husband had the seasonal mushrooms and tarragon cream on toast with celeriac salad to start and like me the Paella to follow. The staff are efficient, knowledgeable and are passionate about food and wine. We enjoyed wines by glass via the Coravin as we were driving. Its a pity we don't live nearer!"

Great food and pleasant surroundings. Stars to first floor can prove awkward especially for toilets. Disabled access almost impossible due to the many stairs.

I chose this restaurant for my wife's birthday and it turned out to be the perfect choice. The entire dining experience was exceptional and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a truly unforgettable experience.

This restaurant offers a delicious modern European menu with unique Asian influences. The warm bread served at the beginning sets high expectations that are consistently met with each course. Although the lamb was unavailable, the restaurant's dedication to quality led to a fantastic beef dish as a replacement. The dessert and petit fours were exceptional, with the white chocolate covered orange jelly leaving a lasting impression. Located in a historic area of Lincoln, this restaurant is an excellent choice for a meal.

A truly superb restaurant. It is within (we are told the oldest continuously occupied house (grade I listed in Europe. The building is, therefore, atmospheric and historic. The food (using many local ingredients was original and excellent; served by very pleasant and attentive staff. We liked the good selection of English wines (sadly lacking in a number of other restos in Lincoln! The whole evening (we had our table for as long as we wanted it was unhurried, relaxing and very enjoyable. We also thought the final bill was reasonable.

We decided to dine at The Jews House based on positive reviews for our first visit to Lincoln. I didn't want to risk wandering around on our first night in a new city. The restaurant had a cozy and intimate feel, and my husband and I both ordered from the a la carte menu. The portions were on the smaller side but deliciously cooked and beautifully presented. The warm bread basket helped satisfy larger appetites. The sommelier was extremely knowledgeable and happy to offer recommendations. We consider ourselves foodies and often dine at fine restaurants, and The Jews House has easily become one of our favorites. Even the filter coffee at the end of our meal was outstanding.

"From the outside, it looks like another tacky eatery in a street lined with tacky takeaways. Walk through the door and pleasantly surprised. A little deli counter, a back room then a garden. The garden overlooks a derelict abandoned overgrown garden. Not a problem, I am used to this in Athens. What is the problem, and I don’t see in Athens, tenants throwing rubbish out of their windows into the garden. It is ideal breeding ground for rats. The local environmental health should investigate, and if needed carry out enforcement action. To sit outside or not? Maybe too cool when the sun went in, and too hot if it came out as no shade. I decided to sit inside, near the back door. A red rose on the table is a neat touch. I was the only diner. Oh but we were busier earlier. Strange how I am always told, if you’d have been here when you weren’t here, we were busy. The menu was singurly uninspiring. Why panini’s? Everywhere does paninis. I have never understood why. Or pasta. The choice penne (which I don’t like), or spaghetti (which I dislike slightly less) I chose spaghetti Bolognese. It arrived seemingly quick. I was asked when I placed my order, did I wish for Parmesan cheese? It was added in the kitchen. Usually brought to and added at the table. Spaghetti Bolognese is not an Italian dish. It was an artificial dish with elements of North and South. The spaghetti mediocre at best, the Bolognese sauce excellent. I was going to leave but decided to stay. I chose tiriamasiu for dessert. Coffee, Illy, no thanks. For coffee walk to Madame Waffle or Coffee Aroma. I visited a couple of weeks ago, the previous week I found closed."
