"Our meal was fantastic. It is really lovely and nice setting. It is great that so much consideration for gluten free people. Most restaurants in ayrshire are limited and you have to pick from a few options but not here it was 90% accommodating to coeliac as it is fairly simple to accommodate to, people need to adapt to change in dietary requirements and educate yourself. Hollybush has and it was a great meal, great taste, portion, and welcoming/friendly staff. There was so many options we struggled to decide what to have and the GF sticky toffee pudding special receipe it was so tasty. We will definitely be back!"

"Always drive by this restaurant on the way to the boat. Had an evening sailing so decided to finally drop in. There was about 18 people in the place and it was about 4:30pm. This place would do much better if they communicated with their customers. It was blatantly obvious that the kitchen was backed up with orders. Instead of telling us the waitresses just ignored us. It was clear that we had picked what we wanted from the menu. About 25 mins gone by and all they had done was take a drink order. Eventually a waitress came over and took our order. My wife ordered the chicken breast and was immediately to quite rashly by the waitress that the waiting time for a chicken breast would be very long. After being ignored by the waitress’s and then being hit with that attitude from our server I decided to leave. The waitress then made the offer of “I can get the chef to make you takeaway nachos if you want” Did she actually think I was going from sit down meal to eating nachos in my car?? I then said we’ll just leave. Only to still be charged £8.75 for an orange juice with lemonade and a glass of wine. I very much doubt that the waitresses can even spell customer service let alone provide it. Won’t be back. Fortunately we found a better restaurant a few miles down the road. It’s a shame as we always wanted to try this place but the staff need some training."

"Visited with a colleague, had a hot chocolate and a Crunchie tray bake each. Hot choc was poor made from powder from a jar. Hot and wet which was about all that could be said for it. Drank it through necessity! Traybake was awful, like being back in the 1970’s covered in thick cooking chocolate, awful! They need to hire a decent baker or if it’s bought in choose a new supplier. Only two other people in, no atmosphere and cake display was awful poorly presented in a small glass cabinet. Wouldn’t rush back. Service was quick and friendly which was the big plus. £9.10 for two hot chocs and two traybakes."

"I was taken here by my daughter and her family and we all had a lovely day (despite the weather not being so great). The restaurant staff were very friendly, helpful and observed all Covid-19 rules, as did all the staff. Outside the 2mt distancing was observed. Only one group at a time was allowed in and after login in and hand sanitising were led directly to our table where the restrictions regarding mask wearing, leaving the table and using the toilets were clearly explained. The service was fairly quick, and the meals were perfectly cooked, delicious and plentiful. There were no complaints from anyone, including an 11 year old fussy eater and a 4 year old. Lovely desserts were available too.The nursery was lovely and the plants were well looked after. My grandchildren loved the milk shakes too. Overall a lovely visit, and I enjoyed the rural location too."
