"Good food...when it finally arrived. We've been here twice now as a family of four. Both times there were spare tables so the kitchen wasn't overwhelmed but the service was so so slow! We thought the first time was just a bad night but after a repeat performance we definitely won't be coming back. It took 1.5hrs for the mains to arrive and we had to ask where they were. Every other table had eaten their mains so the kitchen was literally just cooking our meal. When I asked where it was, the young man asked another member of staff but noone bothered to come and apologise or update us as to where our meals were. Such a shame, nice food but won't be going back."

"Things change. I used to recommend this pub. The seating was uncomfortable. The food portion was small. Very. Though my coconut curry was quite tasty, my wife's dish was bland. We were not welcomed with a smile and told bluntly that what we had chosen on the menu was, in fact, not available. Normally that information would be given first. Everyone has an off day. I'm hoping that's what it was. I just think it wasn't worth the expense of getting there and eating there. Some people are obsessed with going out. Must have money to burn. The next day, I cooked veggie burgers in brioche buns, with fresh avocado spread inside the buns, served with M&S triple cooked chips. It was heaven and cost next to nothing. Price per person: £10–20 Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3"

"I visited this caffe several times. once with my father, once with my friends and recently alone. all men of color. I have always found the personal or the owners to be very dismissed from me, rude and abrupt, but nevertheless friendly with all. Caucasian guests around me. they ask to clean my tellers away when there are still food in them, but not even an eyelid with those who have empty tellers and were there for one. the only difference is my skin color. I always feel excited and despised. I see the friendly tone they keep around with others, but I'll never be greeted in a nice way. they have been abrupt and rude at every occasion, and they make clear that they are. it is very frustrating for me as I am in the regular very passiw and the dinge let go and it takes a lot to complain to me, but I am very disappointed now. I felt this at all three places I visited and that was not only noticed by me, but by my company, without even mentioning how I feel! I am very disappointed as there is a nice caffe and served decent eating and coffee, so I have always tried to give this place a chance. I am not aware of whether those who run this caffe have a subconscious pretension or behave so consciously. I have all tried to give this place a chance and will not be visited again."

"loved my first experience at bartellas and will be...often! beautiful place, great friendly service. also my little dog was very welcome and could sit with me in the restaurant, they immediately brought her a bowl of water! I have eaten with my dad (meat dinner) and mum (lacto intolerant) and my partner and me both vegan. I loved it that there is a separate vegan menu with many options, there is also a separate menu for no lacto, gluten-free as well. the food was really delicious and my partner and I were so surprised to find this place in a small Kent village! will be back and a nice trip through apple top gardens to get there too! 100% recommend go! updated from previous review on 2017-07-16"

"Went in for breakfast with a group of friends and family on a Sunday morning. The breakfast was good but I expected better when it's £12 each. The sausages were sticky, when I took a bite out one, I felt like it was stuck to my teeth. The bacon was quite salty and dry. The hash browns were quite greasy. The scrambled eggs were really nice but the fried eggs were ok. The baked beans were fine. There was lots of different drinks like tea, coffee, orange juice, apple juice, lime juice, rhubarb juice, water and milk. My mum had the continental breakfast which she said was really nice as there was loads of fruit to choose from. There was some foods that they would cook for you if you asked like black pudding."
