"We stayed at this campsite overnight in our campervan. The parking area was flat and nice. The pub was fantastic, with lovely decor and a warm and friendly atmosphere. The food was amazing – we particularly enjoyed the mussels to share as a starter (the best we've ever had, even after just returning from Ireland where seafood is excellent). I had the fish of the day and my partner had the belly pork, both of which were excellent. The only downside was that we were too full to try any desserts, although they all sounded really good. We look forward to coming back again."

Excellent food and service at a busy lunchtime sitting with family. Great atmosphere. I would recommend the beer battered fish and home made hand cooked chips.

Love it here. Everything about the Mary Tavy Inn is super. We travelled with our very large Labrador and we could not have been more welcome. Super breakfast and evening meals. Well located, parking and a great nights sleep. Visualizza piatti

Food was lovely, restaurant has been completely renovated and looks amazing Staff were cheerful and great Food is of a high standard and not over priced If we’d mention one thing, it’s that they need to turn the heat up a bit in the restaurant, it was cool, which wasn’t the best

I stopped at this restaurant as a Brit while camping in a campervan in their field. It was a very quiet evening, and I also visited the pub for a meal and drinks. I couldn't find any faults with the staff, who were all friendly, and the food was great. I would be happy to visit again when in the area.

Needed somewhere to stay in the campervan overnight, which The Mary Tavy Inn provided for free if you had a meal with them. Food was lovely and reasonably priced, staff were very friendly with nothing too much trouble. Stayed in grassed area at the end of the carpark which gave lovely views. Highly recommend. We travel a lot and over the years have stayed in numerous inns. This by far was the one with the warmest friendliest welcome we have ever experienced. It started with George who welcomed us, showed us to our room and gave us all the information we needed. Our room was comfortable with everything you could need. We had dinner and were looked after by such friendly staff. The same at breakfast! All the staff are charming, attentive and nothing is too much trouble

"Gidleigh Park is a country house located in a wooden wally in Devon. It is quite hard to reach the place on a very narrow road, which is very beautiful, but apparently during the winter larger cars can’t even get there. Gidleigh Park houses a two-Michelin star restaurant with Michael Caines as the main chef (the restaurant was recently voted number 1 restaurant in the UK by the Harden’s Sunday Times Food List 2014). Gidleigh Park also has bedrooms (apparently all individual in style and design) and you can stay there for the night and then wonder in the gardens of the estate, which I saw some people doing when I was there. I was visiting Devon and my boyfriend chose Gidleigh Park for lunch on a Sunday and we took the long and narrow road to Gidleigh Park. The inside of the house was very old and had a lot of charm. It had eclectic art and antiques and different style rooms, the lounge had different tables, chairs and the bar was done up in a completely different style. Gidleigh Park showcased British charm and elegance. You could chose to have their signature sample menu for £140/ person, but instead we went for the much cheaper version, their lunch set menu for £44/ person for 3 courses (you could also have 4 courses for £57). Also note choosing dishes a la carte would set you back £115, so the lunch menu seems like the cheapest way how to enjoy Gidleigh Park. We did not have any wine, but apparently thy have an amazing wine cellar. The three course lunch menu included a small appetizer, a starter and a main course and you could choose from one of the 3 starters and one of the 3 main courses. Our appetizer was “goat’s cheese foam with beetroot jelly, candied walnuts and granny smith apple”, but as my boyfriend does not like goats’ cheese he had a tuna tartar as his appetizer which actually looked better than my appetizer. I was not to"
