The Olive Tree - Menu

Our experience at this restaurant was disappointing. We waited 30 minutes to receive our breakfast, while others in our group who ordered after us had finished before ours arrived. Additionally, the eggs were very overcooked and the toast was soggy when our meal finally did arrive.

A friend and I were looking for somewhere to break up a long journey and came across the Olive Tree on Google. We thought that the Olive Tree was lovely we were particularly delighted to see that they had a huge range of delicious cakes at very reasonable prices. Highly recommended!

just had Tomato and pepper soup with cheese toastie. both delicious. toastie was gorgeous. husband had fried eggs bacon and 'chips '. but they weren 't chips they were small roasted potatoes, which were amazing. definitely need to go more regularly though a bit earlier to beat the lunchtime rush.

Our first visit in about years. Very generous lunch and extremely nice. Fantastic value for money. The lovely cakes are there too great. Outside seating and we made it on foot wheelchair. It was great to see our (long lost) member of staff again. The menu was extensive. Good to be back here. I had beef masala and my Mother salmon/asparagus/eggs see the pictures.

After looking around the garden centre , we retired to the cafe , we only had coffee and cake. The scone and apple crumble cake appeared to be homemade and were delicious and the coffee was spot on. Whilst we were there some breakfasts were bought out to the table next to us , they were clearly high quality component , presented nicely . Consequently We are returning next weekend to enjoy brunch ourselves

What a rubbish cafe. Visited today and waited over 30 minutes for two panninies to arrive when customers who came in after us had their food within five minutes. I spoke to the owner but he couldn't care less about a complaint and said I had to remember they had had a busy week. No apology. Certainly won't be going again. Longhorn Farm Shop just down the road have just started serving lunches which are excellent.

Lovely garden centre and super cafe! All fresh made breakfasts and light lunches. Just had coronation chicken jacket (salad and coleslaw) and a soup of the day with cheese toastie. Delicious didn’t sample the cakes that all look great with a variety of interesting offerings! We often use this as a break going east or west on the A14 so much more relaxing environment than motorway services! Highly recommend this family owned haven!

I ordered a cooked breakfast at 10:13 but didn't receive my food until 40 minutes later, long after I had finished my coffee. There's no point in serving a hot drink if this is going to happen. The food was good, but the wait was completely unacceptable. It was quite early and only got busy around 10:45, so they should have been able to be more efficient. The toilets were not very clean either. They really need to improve their service as it used to be good.

I am disappointed to say that, despite the good food and reasonable prices, the cleanliness of the restaurant left much to be desired. I visited at 11 in the morning, just an hour after opening, and was shocked by the state of the restroom. Used hand towels were piled next to the sink, and the toilet I used was filthy. The lack of cleanliness in such a crucial area of a food establishment was concerning. It seemed that the staff were overwhelmed and understaffed, as there was a customer who had been waiting to be served while the employees were casually chatting.
