"We were assigned a room above the pub and dining room. It was very loud before and after closing. When booking a room,I strongly advise that you avoid room #1. The spiral stairs to this room are very challenging and potentially dangerous.. We would not have booked the room if we were told about its deficiencies. The pub and restaurant were very good. "One of the best meals I have ever had. The service was excellent, very attentive and the food was served very quickly. All the courses were presented beautifully, tasted wonderful, and were very generous portions. The price was also very reasonable. I started with a cheese souffle with candied pecans which I thought sounded a little different, and it was, but wonderful. I then had a homemade chicken and leek pie with mash and garden vegetables which was just as good as the first course and I finished with elderflower panna cotta with rhubarb and home made lavender shortbread, again the flavours were incredible. My description doesn't do it justice, you have got to try for yourself. Many thanks for a superb lunch, a great way to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. David"

"I stayed in one of the rooms in the courtyard for £90pn. My room was in a poor condition, had visible damp and was really dirty. Although the beds were made the room was not fit for use in its current state. There was visible damp and decay in the bathroom, a lot of dead bugs and thick dust on every surface and the room was full of dead and living spiders. It just hadn’t been cleaned adequately in a very long time. The furniture and pillows were heavily used, visibly stained and quite frankly in need of replacing. The walls were lined with squashed dead bugs and the old television also did not work at all. The whole room was in a general state of disrepair and definitely not worth the money. I did ask to speak to a manager but when approached the desk staff were completely disinterested and failed to follow up my request to make contact to discuss the situation further. Rooms: 1"

"We had a very pleasant stay at the Five Alls while working nearby. The staff were very pleasant and it seemed to work efficiently. The evening meals were good quality. I had the large sized chicken caesar salad £18. I should have had the smaller size. Couldn 't finish it. I should also have asked for no anchovies. It was pleasant, but not a great deal of parmesan. The beer selection on offer was very small for a rural country pub. Only two on offer, and no bottled options. The two beers on offer were ok, but not great. Several lagers available, but not beer. I fully appreciate the difficulty in keeping cask ales, but there are plenty of bottled options available now which keep well. The furniture and surroundings were very comfortable, with lots of old sofas. The furniture in the restaurant was an eclectic, bordering on eccentric mixture but it seemed to work. There is the work of a local artist on the walls which are for sale and are mostly rural in theme including lots of hares. The staff dogs are present in the bar or certainly were when we arrived and the pub is dog friendly. That was fine with us. We both like dogs. We stayed overnight in the accommodation which was very nice. Large roomy space, well furnished, with a large bathroom. Plenty of parking available. We asked for an early breakfast to next day, bearing in mind we were there on business and needed to leave by 7 am. We fully accept that we were not the Five Alls target demographic, and that we had been made fully aware that breakfast didn 't start until 8. The staff and the chef managed to arrange some breakfast for us to take back to our rooms as the restaurant would be shut at the time we needed to leave. That was very much appreciated. The only problem we had, was what to do with our keys and how to pay our bill and get a receipt. Nobody was up at that time. We ended up putting our room keys through the letterbox and calling to pay later in the day. I would happily stay again. Probably more suited to couples and a weekend away than business users."

"CLOSED ! We had booked a table for Wednesday 28th Feb as we understood the pub was closed Mondays and Tuesdays. We were asked for confirmation two days before which we confirmed. We went today, and they were shut with no message on the door . Looks like all the bottles have been removed and disappointed as we had to try and find somewhere else to eat this evening."
