"It was a cold soggy late afternoon at the end of term. We had been asked to do something special with our grandson aged 5 years as all the family had had colds and short tempers. He chose Dylan’s. Ice cream in winter! A large black and white cow welcomed us to the magic of this shop. It was full of happy children’s voices, chairs were at a premium. We asked To join a table which just happened to be occupied by the family of a child in our grandsons class. It seem as though we had unexpectedly joined a party. Parent leaving the usual designed coffee for steaming hot chocolate with mountains of cream and marshmallows skiing down the mountains, Christmas pudding ice cream, earl gray tea that had its spout at the bottom of the pot. Then there were the games, colouring in with wax crayons, watching the wall Facebook like calculator responded to likes, unliked also changed the numbers. As we departed our grandson and the child from his class each invited the other to their homes. We went back into the soggy wet miserable evening. All that remains is knowledge that we never know when we will encounter moments of unexpected joy. Happy Christmas."

"Perfect Food was delicious, brilliant selection for all taste buds from chicken to salmon, monkfish, prawn, lamb, mixed. From mild to very hot. Fast service, nicely presented with friendly, lovely polite staff. Tonight was quiet, which we prefer, being able to talk and hear each other speak. The booking was made for tonight, Sunday for a table for 5. We had starters, mains, sides, dessert, alcoholic drinks, soft drink and 2 Irish coffees to end the evening. We are new to the area, this is the second time we have been to this Nepalese restaurant and the only one we have visited since before the Pandemic. This will be our regular haunt for a 'treat ' or special occasion from now on. First visit was a Saturday evening, very busy, two large parties. extremely popular place to eat locally yet still the good service and quality food was evident."

"I was meeting a friend for coffee in the Red Rose Tea room this afternoon. , I arrived before my friend and waited to be seated. The waitress asked which table I would like to sit in, when my friend arrived they took our order...for coffee. Then another couple came into the coffee shop who had a reservation. We were then asked to LEAVE as they had booked a table . I have never been treated this way before it looked like we had taken a table that was reserved when in fact we had been given this table. We were told to come back in half an hour and they would be able to serve us. This is not the way to treat customers in your coffee shop"

"Sunday lunchtime at Noah’s Ark first off, location is stunning. Sat on the village green, I can imagine in the summer it’s a great spot. Even on a wet Feb afternoon with its open fire it was welcoming. Food wise, it was ok. Menu was quite extensive with some lovely sounding starters and nibbles. A bit pricey though. Our table was mainly a combination of Sunday roasts and burgers and they were a bit hit and miss. Burgers were tasty although a little dry and fairly stingy on the sauces. The roasts were a decent size but the meat fatty and, ours at least, arrived blue and then over done after being sent back. Desserts were ok if not amazing and the service was polite, efficient and responsive. All in all, we had no regrets going to Noah’s Ark but equally no strong desire to go again."

"Unfortunately, our visit to this restaurant was very disappointing. Despite being extremely busy, there was not enough staff and those present seemed inexperienced. We waited for more than five minutes at the door before anyone acknowledged us, and even longer before we were seated. After 10 minutes at our table, no one had taken our order so we had to use the app to order (not ideal for dining in a restaurant). An hour after arriving, our starters arrived but our drinks were still missing, so we had to ask for them. When the drinks finally arrived, one was missing and the waitress seemed confused. We waited with dirty plates on the table for around 20 minutes after finishing our starters. The waitress then cleared the plates and after another 15 minutes, our main dishes arrived. Unfortunately, they had run out of pizza, which we did not order. My dish (beef pappardelle) was good, but my partner's (pollo Milanese) was cold. The tables were sticky and the toilets were out of toilet paper. We spoke to another customer who had also had a poor experience. They mentioned considering asking for their food to go due to the long wait. It seems that the option for takeaway or delivery may be affecting the restaurant's service quality. Overall, the experience was not worth the cost. Service: Dine in. Meal type: Dinner. Price per person: £20-30."
