Our stay was absolutely perfect! The room and bathroom were stunning and impeccably clean. The breakfast was delicious, and the hospitality was exceptional. Our stay in the red lion was very special. From the moment we got there nothing was too much. I cannot believe how you do most things. The accommodation was spotless and well presented. We are very local just had an evening meal for my partner birthday. We had booked about a week before discussed a menu that would suit us all. I even had to change the time due to work Christine was very helpful. We had a lovely table and drinks we wanted was in stock. All the three courses where delicious and plentiful. Jane is an excellent cook. Thank you so much. We will be back xx

"After enjoying a drink at this pub earlier in the week, we decided to give their dinner menu a try. We called ahead to reserve a table, and although they had a large group booked, they were still able to accommodate us. The pub and its garden are dog-friendly, and we opted to dine in the charming beer garden. The food was delicious, with generous portions of high-quality pub fare. The prices were reasonable considering the portion sizes. The service was prompt, and all of the staff members were exceptionally friendly. We highly recommend stopping by for a visit."

"Great find and great pub. The Sunday lunch was highly recommended by a few people and although it took us a while to get to visit it was well worth the wait! "Don't know whether this experience was because we went on a Sunday night when the usual/trained chef wasn't there and less experienced staff were left to do the cooking but the food terrible. My wife had the calamari starter and we wondered on first taste whether it was onion rings. Our conclusion was that it was (supposed to be) calamari but somehow it was reformed meat and completely overpowered with garlic. My scallop starter was undercooked (yes I know it should be seared and not over cooked but it was just like jelly. And there is only so much you can hide with a liberal sprinkling of rocket salad. My wife's main course of risotto was apparently ok but nothing to write home about and my chicken in cream and stilton sauce was a mess. I was expecting a chicken breast nicely cooked and then sliced with a sauce poured over but it was more like a random pile of chicken pieces, some of which were very chewy (I guess from inconsistent cooking/microwaving) in a sea of sauce. The best thing on the plate was the chips. Surroundings aren't brilliant but the food was definitely the low point."

"The staff were incredibly friendly, and the food was delightful. I ordered takeout and found the prices to be reasonable, ranging from £10 to £20 per person. I would rate the food a solid 5 out of 5, as well as the service and atmosphere. I highly recommend trying the garlic bread and cheeseburger!"

"We’ve driven by this pub dozens of times but this was our first visit. Externally it looks like a typical village pub of the Victorian era with little ‘kerb appeal’ definitely not a pretty country inn! Inside it lacked any charm and was in need of some refurbishment/redecoration and improvements to the random furnishings. However it was surprisingly busy with a mixed clientele of older couples eating and groups of younger people drinking at the bar, outside and in the pool room. The welcome seemed genuine and the atmosphere was definitely informal, although we felt the general organisation and service was rather shambolic. We were dealt with by 4 different people and no one seemed to actually be in charge of providing menus, taking orders, clearing tables, etc. which left us somewhat confused. On the plus side the food was very good, generous portions, unfussy presentation, but sensibly priced. The desserts were almost certainly off the shelf, microwaved type but were quite tasty. Overall it was a reasonable meal but in surroundings that lacked ambience and with an attitude that was so informal and laid back that it was missing any customer service, so we didn’t really enjoy the evening. We won’t be rushing back, but we may return to check it out at sometime in the future."
