Lovely atmosphere, good choice on menu ,the Sunday roast was excellent we will return. The pub was very busy

Lovely selection of beers and soft drinks. Excellent menu , very well cooked. The staff are amazing , and the other customers were very friendly.

Booked a table in advance for 3 for Sunday lunch using the website email, no confirmation so phoned a few days later to check booking to be told availability was now limited which was inconvenient The website email booking system doesn’t work so don’t use and phone to book a table

Doesn't look great from outside car park entrance but once inside staff are great and restaurant is lovely . Menu is very interesting. Everything was well seasoned and tasted amazing (apart from balsamic dressing that had split) Would definitely return ,a really nice independent pub with exceptional food and staff.

Met 3 friends for lunch here today. 2 of us had the Steak Pie, 1 the Fish Pie and the 4th had The Frutti di Mare. Every dish was beautifully cooked and tasted delicious and the portions very generous. The waitress was lovely and the service great. 10/10 We had already planned another date before we left. Diamond Wedding family celebration. Our family group of adults and children enjoyed an afternoon buffet to celebrate the Diamond Wedding anniversary of my husband and myself. The food was delicious and the surroundings welcoming. We were able to arrange the decorations to our taste in the dining room and had access to the garden which was great for the children. Kath, our hostess was attentive and helpful as usual and the weather was perfect. Thank you Royal Oak.

Visited last night for the first time in about 12 months. Have previously enjoyed our visits and experienced good service and food. Last night was a different experience. The service was appalling, complete lack of interest from the staff and all evening had to ask and chase to be served drinks and food. The menu is interesting and the food was tasty but very overpriced for the portion sizes. We were dining with friends who have also visited many times before. They said had they been dining alone last night they would of walked out in disgust. A very disappointing evening out and will not be returning.

This was our first time at this pub, we chose it because of its trip advisor comments and reviews we weren’t disappointed. Very nice friendly welcome from all the staff and a nice atmosphere about the place. We ate in the bar as the restaurant was fully booked but that wasn’t a problem, we were given a nice table by the window. Hubby and I both had starters, he had olives and I had the crab terrine, both of which were very nice. We both chose the steak and kidney pie for our mains, and it was beautiful, home made with lots tender meat and plenty of kidney and gorgeous gravy. One of the nicest pies that we have had.
