"We visited The Star for an impromptu lunch and received the most warm welcome from two lovely attentive waitresses. The choice of drinks was excellent. We ordered food from a menu which had plenty of choice. Our meals were outstanding, excellent quality, hot and plentiful. My dessert of homemade sticky toffee pudding and custard was one of the best I’ve had and to finish, the coffee made with hot milk was made to perfection. The service and food will knock spots off many restaurants I have visited. We will definitely be back very soon! Thank you and well done on running such a quaint and authentic pub."

Homely local country pub with great beer, tasty food and reasonable prices. Laid back atmosphere with lots of local support , pub is dog friendly to well behaved dogs.

Came off the canal as a sign said pub was 50 mtrs a way. Very friendly and helpful staff. Food was great and the steak was cooked to perfection. Very reasonable prices. Would definitely return if in the area again.

Came here with my nan for food. I’ve always liked the star but it’s a shame as it’s not as good as it use to be. We had to sit outside as they weren’t allowing us to sit inside which I don’t understand as majority...

Booked a table for yesterday (wednesday) a week in advance for 3, one of which an elderly woman. We chose the star inn because the location looked nice, was part of the eat out scheme and had good reviews. Upon arrival, they had us down...

A quiet evening with a few drinks at a nice village pub. Have had a few visits here and is a great diversion from walking along the Mon-Brecon canal. There's a sign along the canal indicating it's there and a short walk from the canal to the pub. Big garden and plenty of tables outside. A play area for the children.

My friends and myself visited the Star Pub Mamhilad 8 th March excellent meals and service wonderful meals all hot and cooked to perfection there 13 ladies and we all enjoyed our meal desserts and coffee plus quite a few bottles of wine we stayed until 8-30 in the evening because it was a lovely atmosphere would recommend this pub again lovely service nothing too much trouble
