"Very good fish and chips on Fri eve, around 6.30. Be sure to order your Friday special fish and chips in advance as they ran out shortly after we arrived as new arrivals we didn 't know so were lucky. Popular. Ate in, fresh, crispy, generous and good tartare sauce. Liked the absence of plastic. I 'm sure they would have many more customers if they stayed open a little longer as there were plenty folk around looking for somewhere and something tasty to eat."

This cafe is amazing! The cakes and paninis are delicious. I would drive 70 miles just to come here for the food.

Fantastic food, sensibly priced and always the best customer service. Can't recommend it highly enough for a takeaway lunch.

Friendly and helpful staff, wife and enjoyed superb pulled pork ciabatta cajun chicken mezzaluna, followed by two of the tastiest traybakes you could wish for. A real gem of a place in bonnie Aberfeldy

We had a fantastic lunch however slightly pricey. The Paninis and cakes are amazing however for 2 adults with some drink at just less than £20 was a bit steep! Would highly recommend though and very clean! Visualizza piatti

This charming little cafe has the most adorable father-son team! The coffee was very hot, and we enjoyed that. We also bought a quiche to go and it made a lovely dinner. I tried the brie and cranberry flavor, and it was absolutely delicious, 10/10!

Three of us called in for a quick bite to eat for lunch, took a while to decide between the large variety of sandwiches, we opted for 2 paninis and 1 cheese flatbread, all were good quality at a reasonable price, would defo go back to try the cake selection

I would consider relocating just for their mushroom quiche. It tastes like pure perfection. Every bite leaves me longing for more. The crispy crust, savory mushrooms, and fluffy egg are all perfectly balanced. I would definitely recommend it to a friend, 10 out of 10. Visualizza piatti

I only had a bacon roll and a coffee, best I've had in ages. The other plus was it seemed to be the only place open before 10am in Aberfeldy in the middle of summer (we could clearly see other people looking for places to grab a coffee). One guy working tirelessly and clearly getting great results people placing takeaway orders, quiche orders for the weekend, home bakes getting delivered. A cafe gem

Popped in to the Tay Cafe for a bite to eat while doing a cycling loop from Pitlochry. We had planned to go to habitat, but it was closed and ended going to the Tay cafe on a whim. The carrot and lentil soup was delicious, flat white the perfect balance between frothy milk and hot milk. Oh, and the tray bakes were as delicious as they looked. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a quick lunch if you are in Aberfeldy.

"We stumbled across this place on the last night of a fortnight in Scotland and couldn 't be more glad that we did and that they had space. We were seated promptly (underneath the fan thankfully considering the heatwave), asked whether we 'd eaten there before (we hadn 't), had the menu explained to us (suggested 3 tapas per person) and then left alone briefly to consider the menu. Once ordered, drinks were delivered in a timely fashion, followed by breads dips to tempt tide us over until our tapas arrived. It wasn 't very quick, but I didn 't think it was unduly long either just the right length of time for non fast food that is being prepared freshly. And when it arrived, we were delighted as it was delicious! The only slight disappointment was that salted cod wasn 't available, but that was soon forgotten. My personal favourite was the poached chorizo in red wine with honey glaze, but we were happy with all of our options (patatas bravas, haggis balls, pinchas de pollo, spinach chickpea stew, haddock in red pepper sauce and Spanish tortilla the latter really made by the spicy tomato salsa on the side). 5 between the two of us would probably have sufficed, which would have meant I had space for one of the ice creams, but in hindsight, I 'm glad I didn 't. Excellent service, delicious food, our best meal of our holiday. We probably won 't be back (living in Birmingham and all) but definitely would if we were local."

"This place has all the potential for a 5 star experience and you may well have it by going here! Unfortunately, we did not and it's worth explaining why. For context, we didn't stay overnight just had a meal in the restaurant one night and went to the beer garden another. Restaurant: Food was generally very good and prices reasonable. I'd especially recommend the tempura chard if it's on the menu! The setting of the restaurant is also lovely. However, we ended up waiting about an hour between starters and main meal 2 people . We were advised approx 40 minutes into the wait that one of the mains was no longer available and a substitute would be provided there was some gnocchi improvised from potato mash involved. Service were on top of this though and did remove this item from the bill. So in summary, good elements involved but a couple areas that could do with attention. Beer garden: We went along to the beer garden to catch the rugby world cup final. This was sadly quite a disappointing experience that ended up with the limited attendance clearing out before half time . In short, coverage only started after national anthems. No sound other than via headphones ?? , which didn't work ?! . Pizzas were pretty tasty but the cheese was stringy as a ball of yarn positive with no cutlery or tissues provided negative . And at c. £16 per pizza, felt a bit cheated by the whole experience. The rooms themselves look lovely and I'm sure on a summer's day if you're looking to enjoy some drinks and a bit of food in a lovely setting, the Taybank probably covers exactly what you're looking for! They also run a traditional music session in the main bar on a Thursday evening, which is absolutely worth checking out! But I'm afraid for us, it's unlikely we would rush back for anything other than that."
