"When we arrived at the restaurant, we were informed that we needed to pre-order the Mother's Day menu, which had not been mentioned when we made the reservation. It would have been helpful if someone had called ahead to let us know, as we all wanted to try the set roast Mother's Day menu. When we tried to order drinks, the bartender seemed flustered and annoyed, and did not allow us to open a tab. The restaurant had the football game on, which is understandable since it is a sports bar, but it was so loud that we couldn't hear each other speak. This was particularly frustrating as there were families with children present. We asked for the volume to be turned down, and although they did adjust it, it was still very loud. Additionally, they gave us a table for six instead of the seven we had booked for, plus a buggy, without any prior consideration. The only positive aspect of our experience was that the restaurant was clean."

"This place is very nice with excellent food and delicatessen but the girl serving hasn’t got a clue on what she is selling, as matter of fact I asked about an Italian cheese that she had right under her nose but she told me that they didn’t have it in store. Also she sliced mortadella half inches very good focaccia although extremely greasy. I will go back though Service: Dine in"

"A small cosy restaurant which can be easily missed! Parking can be a bit of a challenge. Fairly basic surroundings in restaurant but the level of service and great care and friendly service makes it feel warmer in ambience. Starters of burrata and another dish of charcuterie were plentiful fresh. Pizzas were super great dough base which is just to my liking. Soft but thick enough. Freshly made tasty with right amount of toppings. Wines are served by the glass but not shown on menu. Overall a good experience and would defo return. Thank you Yard team :"

"I visited Lussmann in April when they were revamping their menu and enhancing it with new flavors. Lussmanns Harpenden, located in an 18th-century former coach house with a view of Leyton Green, exudes a charming countryside atmosphere. Guests can enjoy outdoor dining in the enclosed garden and have private meals in a lovely first-floor room. We began with Passion Fruit Martini and Chapel Down Gin. Our appetizers included Red Lentil Soup and Thyme Roasted Beetroot, which were not only beautifully presented but also wonderfully tasty. For the main course, we savored Halibut, Corsican Slow-Braised Label Anglais Free-Range Chicken, and Sirloin Steak with fries. We also ordered Seasonal Market Vegetables and fries as sides. I must say every dish was meticulously prepared, expertly combined, and served at the perfect temperature. The steak, in particular, was excellently cooked to a medium rare, just as I had requested. To conclude our outstanding meal, we indulged in Pineapple Carpaccio and Sweet Bitter Orange Brûlée, accompanied by a delightful cup of espresso. Our waitress, Jaida, was exceptionally cheerful and attentive, and the manager, Michael, was highly professional, ensuring everything ran smoothly. At the end of our fantastic dining experience, I had the privilege of personally thanking Chef Sergio, an affable young talent with a promising future. I want to extend my congratulations to Andrei for assembling such an incredible team. I wholeheartedly recommend everyone to pay a visit to Lussmann in Harpenden for an exceptional dinner or lunch. "This place is very good, both food and service wise. The portions were big enough to be filled by the end of dinner, and the food tasted very good. On the menu you can find food to satisfy anyone’s wishes. When we went to the restaurant, we had Jada as our waitress, and she was amazing! She understood perfectly what everyone wanted, and that’s probably one of the reasons why our visit was so enjoyable. For example when I said I’d like the side Caesar salad, because I thought the main salad might be a bit big, she had asked the chefs to make the salad a bit bigger, just so it wouldn’t be too little. Amazing service! Overall, I would definitely recommend this place for whenever you are looking for something to eat with family or friends."

"Really great food and lovely service. Very friendly. Unfortunately we didn 't realise how kid friendly it was, so we 're a bit disappointed on our 'date night '. Tables all had paper table cloths and a set of crayons on them. Most tables were families with children, which is not a bad thing, but just not what we expected. The restaurant staff do expect the children to behave though and one family was reminded of this. So a great place for families but not for us."
