I ordered taramasalata, asked for gfree pitta brot, another order was for beetroot hummus, also gfree. no Pitta-Brot, only 2 pieces usually cut brot. both dishes were disappointing, dry brot, no salat sides, not even a tomato or gurke. very loud,"

"We have enjoyed eating here in the past, but it had been a while since we had last been here. The restaurant was set up well with Covid measures of hand sanitiser and perspex screens. We were also asked to provide our details for TT. The service was very attentive and friendly but then we were the only ones in the restaurant!The food was excellent, good size portions and very tasty. Shame it was so quiet, but it was a rainy, cold Weds night."

"I visited Lussmann in April when they were revamping their menu and enhancing it with new flavors. Lussmanns Harpenden, located in an 18th-century former coach house with a view of Leyton Green, exudes a charming countryside atmosphere. Guests can enjoy outdoor dining in the enclosed garden and have private meals in a lovely first-floor room. We began with Passion Fruit Martini and Chapel Down Gin. Our appetizers included Red Lentil Soup and Thyme Roasted Beetroot, which were not only beautifully presented but also wonderfully tasty. For the main course, we savored Halibut, Corsican Slow-Braised Label Anglais Free-Range Chicken, and Sirloin Steak with fries. We also ordered Seasonal Market Vegetables and fries as sides. I must say every dish was meticulously prepared, expertly combined, and served at the perfect temperature. The steak, in particular, was excellently cooked to a medium rare, just as I had requested. To conclude our outstanding meal, we indulged in Pineapple Carpaccio and Sweet Bitter Orange Brûlée, accompanied by a delightful cup of espresso. Our waitress, Jaida, was exceptionally cheerful and attentive, and the manager, Michael, was highly professional, ensuring everything ran smoothly. At the end of our fantastic dining experience, I had the privilege of personally thanking Chef Sergio, an affable young talent with a promising future. I want to extend my congratulations to Andrei for assembling such an incredible team. I wholeheartedly recommend everyone to pay a visit to Lussmann in Harpenden for an exceptional dinner or lunch. "The restaurant is difficult to find. No 43 is an alleyway between 2 buildings. There is plenty of off street parking but we did not know this till we found the alley way and had parked about 100m away. The staff were busy with several larger parties than the three of us. Many seemed like regulars and the staff seemed to devote more time to them. The food was delicious and good value (5* but the service not so (3* . We were not asked if we wanted a dessert and had to ask three times for the bill. In the end I went to the desk to ask for the bill after the other 2 of our group left."
