Love Lussman’s! The food is so fresh and the fish is always amazing and delicious. Service lovely and friendly. Such good value for some amazing food.

Recently moved to harpenden and stumbled across lussmans and decided to stop in for a late lunch, could not recommend higher fantastic service , fantastic food and a lovely clean , smart interior with good music to seal the deal! 10/10 visited on 3/4/24

Hot summer's day, perfect to get some wings, so we went to Harpenden which is close by. Buzzing town centre (market day is every 4th Sunday in the month , nice vibe. not a charity shop in sight. Lussmann had a very pleasant garden, busy but not to much so. Waiter (Kris? very attentive, nice menu, we had beetroot salad (excellent/tasty , soup, fishcake and onglet steak, all very nice, dessent Pavlowa (tasty and a cake.

Another great meal at this restaurant. This was our 4th visit and we will be back. From the moment you walk in you are made to feel welcome. The food is outstanding and the spring menu is great. I had sardines to start, Hake for main which was cooked to perfection, others had halibut, beef shin and lasagna. All cooked perfectly. The service is exceptional. We had a slight hiccup with the cheese board, but it rectified very quickly. All in all I cannot recommend this place any more highly. Visualizza piatti

Lussmanns : Lovely location, great food, excellent service – so another good meal out in Harpenden. We ate at lunchtime so went for the excellent set-menu from which I have three courses. However, the children’s menu only have too courses – if would be nice if a third course could be had; my son was hungry so ended up eating a portion of my starters (we were asked if he wanted his main course when we had our starters, but decided to wait so we all had the main course together). The Dover Sole comes just on its own – it would have been nice to been told this as we would have ordered some side dishes. I went for the “Label Anglais free-range chicken fricassee” which was excellent.

The only reason I came in here was because I was staying in Luton and I couldn’t find 1 decent restaurant there so I came to Harpenden instead. As soon as I walked in the atmosphere was good. Staff laughing and I got a real scene that they all knew each other well like 1 big Family. I was shown to my table and I ordered the 2 course set Menu of Steak and Chips followed by Chocolate Mousse. Both were delicious but what impressed me most was Firstly , The Gin I had with the meal “Chapel Down Pinot Noir Gin” and Tonic was Absolutely Amazing. We have eaten at Lussman's before and were pleased to go back for a celebration meal for my husband's birthday. Given a nice corner table. The starters were good but the mains choices were a little disappointing for my husband. He would have chosen the steak but only 10oz was on offer which was too big even for his good appetite. I wish that they, along with other restaurants, would offer alternative portion sizes. In the end he plumped for the chicken fricasee and really enjoyed it. I chose the cauliflower fritters but found that a bit disappointing, with a pile of indistinguishable ingredients on the plate, including the deep fried leeks which were just dry strips (I suppose I should have...
