The Whistle Stop Barber Shop

The Whistle Stop Barber Shop is a promising new establishment in South Bridge with good American style eats, a nice atmosphere and imaginative cocktail menu. For me, it would be an absolutely ideal place to kick-start a night out in Edinburgh!

I visited this restaurant with a voucher deal, so my choices were limited, but I had a great experience. The burger was tasty, the sweet potato fries were delicious, and the cocktails were excellent. The decor was stylish and the staff were friendly. I would definitely come back to try more items from the menu.

service was amazing, eating was so at point! tried all the sharing care section, from the usa to find its hard, roasted tomato that did not soggy and ming, but I finally found it here at whistle stop! the bar is fully ready for all its cocktail and beer needs, massive selection of spirituosen and softs! all in all amazing all round bar / dining room! The dining experience and service were absolutely incredible. The mixed drinks served were some of the best I've ever had. The staff were accommodating, even putting up with my particular requests and chatting with us for hours as my friends and I enjoyed our drinks. The food was fresh and filling, leaving nothing on our plates when we were finished. The portions were generous, and special thanks to Simon for the recommendations.

Three of us came for lunch during a visit to Edinburgh. We had a few dietary questions, but the staff was very friendly and helpful. The drinks were affordable and the food arrived quickly and was delicious. My favorite dish was the fried chicken starter, which was clearly made with fresh ingredients. We even asked the bartender if they had a phone charger and they were happy to help us out. The staff were really nice and young. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!

Headed here with workmates last night and was impressed from the get go. This place has had a major face lift following the departure of it's predecessors Aspen bar and Rascals.It looks fresh and modern, and has barber chairs set up downstairs for additional quirkiness. Excellent music all night, and the bar staff were really good. Made all the difference as they were attentive and remembered our orders. Visited the whistle stop on Friday evening at around 8,rang in advance to book a table,arrived and the table wasn't ready or even put in the system...we were then given a table right near the bar where it was noisy and really busy. The food itself was really good for the price,a burger will only cost you £8.50....can't complain at that. Apart from the fact that it was a Friday night there was nothing wrong with the venue or food. The bow stairs section of the bar is set out like a barbers shop which I actually believe is still used as a barber shop sometimes. I would come back anytime day off the week....except Friday night.

I have seen that this room in many restaurants/bars about the years so enthusiastic is to see that this place works for whistlestop barber shop. they certainly do not show any signs of closure. we decide to eat early and I had sat (or all day not quite sure whether I choose the baby back ribs or one of their glorius burgers that they always show on social media. our waitress was ever so patient that we came back on the table several times before we even looked at the menu. Whistle Stop Barber Shop is relatively new and resides in the former residence of Rascals, across the road from Old College on South Bridge. Another voucher deal brought us here, offering two burgers, pizzas or hot dogs plus a cocktail from a limited set of 4 for £14. The venue was welcoming, with muted tones and barber paraphernalia adorning the walls. Friendly staff gave us the menus. The cocktail offering from the deal was short (although we could see the main cocktail menu on the table so new we'd probably order more later).
